PML Week 10 Pick Ems’

PML Pick Ems’ is going to be a weekly segment featuring Greeny, Arod, Cammy, Burn, and I where we predict the winners for every PML game. We will also have excerpts each week from each of us, but these excerpts will feature different topics each week. This week we are focusing on each matchup and discussing around the league in the PML.

Week 10 Matchups –

Oh man, Greeny… what happened? Greeny went 6-8 this week on pick ems’ and Arod went 11-3, and now both coaches are tied 87-49 on the season. If you have been following us through 9 weeks, you will have noticed that Greeny has been dominating week over week and was the clear favourite to away the pick em’ championship, but after this week, it is anyone’s guess who will come away with the most pick ems’. SPdot and Vet tied this week in a game that no one really wanted to win and this is the second tie this season for the Patriots. As we’ve explained before, ties count as incorrect guesses for our pick ems’. There wasn’t any real upsets this week in reference to our pick ems’, but Cammy should have came away with a victory over the Texans but fumbled the game away in the fourth quarter.

Greeny

Cleveland 35 – Baltimore 28:

I think this is a close game throughout, but the Browns take another one here. The pass rush, Nick Chubb and now Amari Cooper are all going crazy. For the Ravens they are now officially on draft watch. The season has not gone the way they have wanted at all. Lamar has looked like a shell of what he should be since he is closing in on int regression territory. The Ravens will fight throughout the season but ultimately the Browns pull this one off here.

Tampa Bay 42 – Tennessee 17:

The battle of injury ridden offenses. The loss of King Henry via trade and rookie running back Sharp, with the possibly suspended Treylon we have no idea who is playing offense for the Titans. Malik might be at Rb for all we know, The Bucs have played without starting Qb Baker Mayfield but you have to say they will have by far more weapons at their disposal.

Arizona 42 – Atlanta 38:

The battle of the ages. The game that will be talked about for the rest of the cycle. The Out Falcons vs the lowly Cardinals. These two coaches loathe each other. Some would call this a rivalry but these coaches both think the other stinks. The Falcons have a clear team advantage here, but Que knows how much s*** he will hear if Nef wins this game. I expect Que to play this game like a Super Bowl and then officially go back to relaxing throughout the season.

Burn –

Los Angeles Chargers 27 – Detroit 24:

This is the game of the week, and it should be a great one, assuming the Lions can contain the three superstars that are coming after their quarterback. The Lions have done better than expected this season, and I expect them to keep this game close as well. The Chargers were one of the best rosters starting off of the gate, and Codes managed to find a way to make them even better. The Chargers have the best pass rushers in the game and even though they don’t get to the quarterback, they create pressure and inaccurate passes. I see the pressure of the Chargers forcing Goff into some bad throws leading to a 27-24 Charger victory.

New York Jets 41 – Las Vegas 38:

The Jets are coming off of a tough loss to perhaps the best team in the AFC. People will look at this game and think that they have an easy game based off of records, but I think that it is the opposite. The Jets will need to be smart and use Dalvin Cook to play the ball control game as the Raiders have one of the best passing attacks in the league. The Raiders are coming off of a close win where Jimmy G threw 3 interceptions but was still able to throw the game winning touchdown through a large amount of pressure. He will need to do the same this week. I think the Jets will run and juke the Raider defense, playing a ball control type of offense. The Raiders will get their passing yards, but Jimmy G will fail them once again. Jets win 41-38

Buffalo 31 – Denver 14:

The Bills just came off of a win against the Bengals where they didn’t look like their usual selves. Josh Allen is creeping into the top half of the league in interceptions, and he’s projected to lose his superstar status at the moment. The Broncos have traded all of their early round picks to acquire players right now. Some say they are tanking but why would you tank when doing this. They got their quarterback of the future in Lance but he is having a tough time at the moment. The defense, even with two superstar corners, aren’t stopping anybody. The Bills will curb the interceptions and the Broncos will have no answer for the Bills offense. The Bills win 31-14.

AROD –

Chicago 20 – Carolina 7:

Clock will be running all game due in part to the Bears run heavy scheme. Jefe will force turnovers, and the Bears should win easily. However, expect the Panthers to cover the +13.5 spread in the road loss. Should be an interesting game to watch with the Panthers heavy blitz packages versus the Bears heavy fun scheme. JT has beaten Jefe in the past, so take my words with a grain of salt.

New England 35 – Indianapolis 17:

I think the Patriots defense actually scores 2+ touchdowns this game as the Patriots win big at home. The Colts struggled with the Panthers this past week, allowing 234 rush yards in the loss. Spdot will certainly exploit the run defense all the way to an easy victory.

Houston 45 – Cincinnati 12:

The Texans have shown the ability to use lower-tier users solely as stat game. The Bengals are playing conservative with Joe Burrow as he approaches the interception threshold. Keraun is licking his chops like a hungry lion staring down at a wounded Zebra. Texans win big here, 5+ interceptions. You can book it.

Cammy –

Minnesota 31 – New Orleans 17:

Morale is down in New Orleans and Minnesota is looking to capitalize on that and get back into the win category after a loss to the Falcons this week. I believe Minnesota is finally ready to turn this misery train around and get back on the right track with a win this week.

Green Bay 42 – Pittsburgh 21:

I truly believe these two coaches are in a different league of each other and the Packers are going to enter this game completely dismantling the hopes of the Steelers with a brutal victory. This Packers offense and defense is just way too good for these steelers to accomplish anything this week. This is going to be a bloodbath.

Jacksonville 31 – San Francisco 28:

Could this be the game Jacksonville finally overcomes and looks competent again on offense? Or will the 49ers do what they been doing all season and slip away with a victory by a small margin. If Jacksonville wants to win this game, they are going to have to get Trevor Lawerence right or this will turn ugly just like their previous games.

Fallen –

Dallas Cowboys 28 – New York Giants 17:

The Cowboys are looking to pull off the sweep against the Giants, they already beat New York 30-20 at the beginning of the season. These two teams are having opposite seasons and Daniel Jones has been accused of shaving points and tanking for his team. The Cowboys are in complete control of their division with the next closest team being 3-5-1, but they don’t want to start slipping up midway through the season. I don’t think the Giant’s offensive line is going to be able to stop Micah Parson this time around, expect Daniel Jones to be pressured for more than 65% of his snaps.
