On 10/20/23 at 10:03 PM the PML world was shocked to hear the announcement of players who have violated PML’s rules and face suspension. The Chargers were rattled when they heard Ekeler was one of the guilty players. What did the star RB get suspended for? Betting. He got caught betting on facility grounds, but it wasn’t the typical betting on NFL games like we have seen in the past… apparently Ekeler and an unknown teammate at the time made a bet to see… who could grow the best hair in 3 weeks??? It raised loads of questions: “why?” , “who” , and “but you’re bald?”. Shortly after the announcement the Chargers HC made a statement.
“I know you have all heard the news. We are as shocked as you all. Ekeler has been apart of this team for 7 great years and we never had a problem like this before. We just like many other teams went over how strict the NFL was going to be on gambling. I guess we did not make the message clear enough and I will take blame for that. Lastly, I know there are questions about who the bet was made with. We are getting to the bottom of that and they will be punished accordingly… thank you.”
The date was 10/23/2023 at 10:04 almost exactly 3 days later the news dropped. The second half of the “hair bet” has been found… who is it? No other than MVP race leader Justin Herbert. Now just 72 hours later, The Chargers are faced with another suspension and head coach Codes leaves us with another statement.
“This has been the worst 72 hours in my coaching career. First we lose our rushing and receiving yards leader and now we lose our superstar QB??? On top of that we have to face the favorite to meet us in the Super Bowl this week. This was game of the week… h*** game of the year. I flew out 12 of my family members to come watch this. It was going to be hard without Ekeler , but now no Herbert, it doesn’t get harder than this. One thing I want to know… WHO SNITCHED? We get all of our players thrown out in the spotlight, but no news of who the informant is? I will get to the bottom of this. Only 3 things can save us at a time like this: Joe Flacco, Trestan Ebner, and God… wish me luck Charger nation.”
You heard it here, Joe Flacco will be stepping up as QB 1 for the Chargers with the goal to prove he still has a spot in the league, and Trestan Ebner is stepping up as RB 1 for Ekeler with the goal to jump start his career and prove he could potentially be a #1 back in this league.
