PML Pick Ems’ is going to be a weekly segment featuring Greeny, Arod, Cammy, Burn, and I where we predict the winners for every PML game. We will also have excerpts each week from each of us, but these excerpts will feature different topics each week. This week we are focusing on each matchup and discussing around the league in the PML.
The group was 10-1 this week on our consensus picks, our only wrong guess was that the Seahawks would defeat the 49ers, but in a stunning upset, CEO came back to win the game in the fourth quarter. What was even more impressive is that he did it without a few of his top players, keep an eye on the 49ers to be a sneaky pick to win the NFC West.
Week 13 Matchups –
Greeny –
Seattle 35 – Dallas 24:
Battle of two NFC heavyweights. This matchup has a ton of playoff implications from seeding, home field, and just who’s going to get in on what tie breakers. I think we are at the point where Dallas has their division clinched essentially and maybe we see some gamesmanship from them holding some stuff back vs potential playoff opponents. On the. Other side Z is coming off a bad loss to a division rival where he had a multiple score and ball late. He’s now in a three-way tie for the NFC west crown and knows he has to win this week and that’s why I give him the edge here.
New Orleans 42 – Detroit 35:
Shootout in the nfc. Both of these coaches can put up points in bunches. No has been playing solid defense but I think the Lions and their weapons keep this one competitive throughout. Look for a big defensive play late to seal the w for the saints.
Los Angeles Chargers 38 – New England 24:
This is a battle of two afc heavyweights. Dot is coming off a w vs the giants but it was a close game throughout when many believed it should have been a blowout. The Chargers went 2-0 with Herbert out and suspended and get him back this game. Codes will come out looking to throw for 450 yards with him if he can to make up for lost time. The factor here for me is the overwhelming difference between the Chargers defense and New Englands offense.
Burn –
San Francisco 65 – Philadelphia 30:
The Eagles continue to lose with the best team in the league. I am not sure what’s worse, the trade that gave up their first for Henry, or the fact that they are still losing despite adding another superstar; one of the best superstar running backs at that. The Niners are proving that they are forreal this season. They have experienced some devastating injuries to their star players but they continue to win games. They just came back from a huge deficit to beat one of the best teams in the league in the Seahawks. The Eagles will put up points as they always do, but the Niners will score every drive winning the game 65-30.
Los Angeles Rams 30 – Cleveland 13:
The Browns looked so promising early in the season. They are still winning their division at the moment but only by a game. They just lost to a team that was in the running for a top 5 pick with a superior roster. They face another roster that is worse than theirs but one of the best users in the league. The Rams just suffered a bad loss to a divisional opponent; however, they are still at the top of the NFC West. The roster has its superstars and that’s about it. Kupp is still dominating the league and I expect the same in this game as well. The Browns wont take advantage of what they have and unnecessarily throw the ball leading to Rams winning the game 30-13.
Kansas City 27 – Green Bay 24:
This is possibly the best matchup of the week. This could be a potential Super Bowl matchup at the end of the season. The Packers were struggling with the Lions until they came back and pulled away in the second half. After their week one loss, the Chiefs have been on a roll the entire season. Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league and he is taking command of this Chiefs team. Their coach is looking to get back to back super bowls and it’s looking like that could be a possibility. This game will be close but Mahomes will be the difference here. Chiefs win 27-24.
AROD –
Buccaneers 41 – Carolina 13:
Somehow 59 overall Tyree Jackson always finds the field in a PML cycle. He didn’t play terrible last week against the Titans, but I don’t see him outdueling the pass happy Baker Mayfield this week. Having Jackson under center really won’t open things up for rookie RB Chris Brooks either. Buccaneers will bottle up the Panthers early and we should see a lot of clock being chewed away in the 2nd half. Buccaneers cruise in this one.
Miami 33 – Washington 31:
The Dolphins absolutely need this one to remain relevant in the divisional race after dropping their last game to the Jets. So we can call it a must win game for Deebo. It should be a very tight one, but I anticipate the Miami roster to give Deebo the advantage and the W. The Commanders have gone 1-8-1 since starting out at a hot 2-0. Give me the Dolphins on a last second field goal.
Denver 28 – Houston 17:
The Texans aren’t looking as dominant as they did when they first came out the gate. They have dropped 2 games to the Cardinals and Bengals, before narrowly taking down the Jaguars. This game screams major upset alert. Don’t be surprised if the Broncos roll here and take down the Texans.
Cammy –
New York Jets 28 – Atlanta 17:
Atlanta hasn’t looked too good these past couple of weeks with their new and improved super offense. I believe coach Nef is still trying to figure out what works with waddle and what doesn’t and i think the Jets will capitalize on this and juke box their way to victory.
Tenneseee 20 – Indianapolis 17:
I think Indy is a talented team that’s trying to finally figure it out, but I think they lose this week against Tennessee. Their run game is fantastic, but the problem is their passing game isn’t consistent and it’s hard to win games without consistency.
Ari 35 – Pittsburgh 13:
Arizona is looookinggggg sizzling hot! Kyler is 4-2 since he came back, and I think he finally figured out his identity in this Arizona team. I think Arizona is going to beat the breaks off of the Steelers to make a statement.
Fallen –
Cincinnati 21 – Jacksonville 20:
Goose is coming off a tough loss to Curt and it seems like whenever Goose can spark some life into his team, he suffers a loss the following week. But, I think Tbandit is in the same boat, he is coming off a close loss to the Texans, and fortune has to favour one of these teams. This game will be neck and neck, but Tbandit isn’t playing for the tie, so he’s going to go for 2 late in the game, but will fail the conversion to drop to 2-10 on the season.
