Giants Week 13 Injury Report & Focus Players
After an exciting round of week 12 games, we are in week 13. In simming through the week 13 practice, the Giants have more offensive line injuries. Each week we will go over the injury report and practice focus players before the game and update the depth chart at that position.
Focus Players:
RT Evan Neal: Neal is our right tackle of the future. He has been given 15 attribute requests as of this article and he is close to an upgrade as well. Neal is a star development player who I want to develop quickly so the offensive line can take shape sooner rather than later. He has been hurt multiple times this season. He and Andrew Thomas have both suffered multi week injuries and now are officially labeled as injury prone. He will have to show coach Burn he can stay healthy otherwise he will be shifted positions and a long term tackle will be found elsewhere.
ROLB Azeez Ojulari : Ojulari is a good player who just hasn’t found the amount of success you would think that a player of his size and speed would. With teams focusing on defensive tackle Lawrence, Ojulari should be feasting on his 1-1 opportunities but he isn’t. Hopefully getting him another upgrade soon will change that.
MLB Isaiah Simmons: Simmons just got his upgrade and it isn’t a bad one but not what he hoped for. He hoped he would get a speed upgrade but only got plus 3 zone. This helps in his pass coverage but he is disappointed in what it could have been.
LT Thomas 92 OVR – 3 weeks (Broken Thumb)
This is Thomas’s second mulitweek injury for the season. This time he has broken his thumb and instead of just putting a cast on it and getting on the field, he needs to be out for almost a quarter of the season. Thomas is supposed to anchor this line for the cycle, but how can he when he is always hurt.
RT Andrew Norwell 77 OVR – 1 weeks (Broken Thumb)
Norwell will come back after the bye week and take over for Thomas. This line just can’t stay healthy at all. The Packers boast an impressive defense and both tackles would have been useful in that game.
WR Darius Slayton 77 OVR – 1 weeks (Knee Cartilage Tear)
Slayton will be back after the bye, just in time for the Giants to get their best receiver versus one of the better secondaries in the league. Robinson stepped up in Slayton’s absence so we expect him to get some more playing time as well.
CB Aaron Robinson 71 OVR – 0 weeks IR (Knee Cartilage Tear)
Robinson is still on the IR list due to the Giants picking up a few veteran corners. At this point he will stay here and just be developed through attribute requests in order for him to start next season.
MLB Jarrad Davis 70 OVR – 18 weeks IR (Complete MCL Tear)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
TE Tommy Sweeny 64 OVR – 0 weeks IR (Ruptured Disk)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury as he will stay on IR. No change from week 1. He will stay on IR for the rest of the season.
C J.C Hassenauer 62 OVR – 13 weeks IR (Torn Tricep)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
TE Chris Myarick 59 OVR – 8 weeks IR (Broken Hand)
He was a backup piece and will not be with the Giants next season when he heals from his injury. No change from week 1.
