Welcome to PML Frightfest! We’ve paired PML teams and coaches with some of the most renowned monsters and villains from classic horror tales. Lets take a look at some of the some of the best and worst of PML season 1!
AFC East
Patriots – Coach SpDot (Surprise top team)
Freddy Krueger from “A Nightmare on Elm Street”: When Coach SpDot took control of the Patriots, the expectations from the league were more of a slumber than a scream. However, akin to Freddy Krueger, the dream-invading menace of Elm Street, the Patriots have found a way to infiltrate the minds and fears of their opponents. Freddy, with his iconic glove of razors, torments his victims in their dreams, a place they once felt safe. Similarly, the Patriots, once dismissed or underestimated, have become a real-life nightmare for opposing teams in the PML. Coach SpDot’s game strategy feels like it’s been ripped straight out of Freddy’s playbook: relentless, unpredictable, and leaving adversaries questioning their reality. The PML will be eagerly watching, hoping they don’t fall asleep, because as the old saying goes: “If you dream it, Freddy can do it.” And right now, Coach SpDot’s Patriots are making all their dreams come true.
Dolphins – Coach Deebo (In a tough division)
The Tethered from “Us”: Coach Deebo’s Dolphins find themselves in one of the most challenging divisions of PML. Much like “The Tethered” from Jordan Peele’s psychological horror-thriller “Us”, they are always trying to emerge from the shadows of their counterparts. The Tethered, doppelgängers living in underground tunnels, aspire to break free and claim the lives that their above-ground versions have. The Dolphins, under Coach Deebo’s stewardship, show glimpses of brilliance and potential but are still striving to fully ascend, to break away from the mirrored existence of being “almost there”. In a division where every game feels like a battle against a reflection of oneself, Coach Deebo is determined to prove that his Dolphins are more than just an echo of greatness – they are the real deal. As the season progresses, PML will be watching closely to see if the Dolphins can finally emerge from the underground and take their rightful place in the sunlight.
