Spdot and the Patriots are quietly building a case to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Sitting at 8-3-2 (.692%), we can’t help to think about the potential of seeing the stock Patriots representing the AFC in the Super Bowl over some powerhouse teams such as the Chiefs, Chargers, Jets, and Bills. Could this happen? I am starting to not only believe, but I am starting to confidently think the Patriots will be the last team standing in the conference. It isn’t pretty, but they are getting it done, and are forcing you to play the game his way. The Patriots have already beaten the Chargers, Jets, Bills, and are slated to take on Matigy and the Chiefs this week in a AFC showdown. Entering the week on a four game win streak, if they could take down the Chiefs this week, I do believe a lot of the public will also back the Patriots as serious contenders in the AFC. They have the Jets and Bills also on the schedule to close out the season, and this could further strengthen their case. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

Season 2 will have an entirely new landscape
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Where to start? Well I assume KMFO will have a team entering the season, so that right there is instant villain, and a bar set that much higher for the rest of the league. Aside from that, starting from the top Spdot, already a contender, will have an entire off-season to boost his slow and not-fit-for-Madden roster. Bills, Dolphins and Jets will take a step back as they all had their chances in season 1 while other teams were in the rebuild. The Texans will by season 2 probably have 400 content points poured into the team. Scary to think about. Chiefs and Chargers will still be the Chiefs and Chargers and always a top play in the conference. DK and KingMike, two previous Super Bowl winners will have an off-season of draft, free agency, and development to step up and compete. Don’t count them out as major players come season 2. Same goes for Jefe, who like Spdot and the Patriots, have competed out the box with a bottom 5 CFM team. The Bears hold the Panthers (1-5 potential) draft pick and have all sorts of financial freedom. Wimmy will most definitely have the Vikings ready to roll after a few tweaks to the roster this off-season. JC and the Saints will enter phase 2 of the blueprint they laid out pre-cycle, as they are already ahead of the rebuild with their 10-3 record. I expect the Cowboys to take a step back next season and compete with his division rather than conference. And finally the scariest part of it all- the NFC West. Once the Rams, Seahawks, and Cardinals get up and running at full throttle, enter 3 more contenders to the arena. One of the fallers in this situation will definitely be the 49ers. Things are shaping up to be a wild ride season 2 and we will certainly see some new teams step up, while others take a step back.

AFC is wide open
Reality or overreaction: Reality
The word on the PML streets is that the Chiefs and Chargers are the favorites to come out of the AFC, that couldn’t be farther than the truth. While both teams look solid, it would be disrespectful to count out the Pats, Jets, Bills, and Texans. The first 3 have actually beaten the Chiefs or Chargers in H2H games and the Texans are currently competing for the first seed. Don’t sleep on teams like the Browns who have a great team and big wins as well. There are really big games these last few weeks which might give us more insight on who are contenders and who are pretenders.

Abilities don’t matter as much
Reality or overreaction: Reality
As someone who has a team full of abilities… they don’t impact the game as much as last cycle. The only abilities (IMO) that impact the game at a high level is any velo ability, hot route master, lurker and inside stuff. I have seen 2 edge threats (Bosa and Mack) combine for THREE sacks in 13 weeks… let me repeat their sack total COMBINED is 3. I have seen Joey Bosa get blocked one on one by TEs, some even on outside runs (he has no outsiders). I have seen secure protector tackles get beat by bums. I have seen WRs have double me activated, not get doubled, lob one up and get intercepted. This isn’t me complaining either it’s just an observation I’ve made and been told by others. It’s good and bad. I am a guy who loves consistency, but at the same time it’s good seeing abilities not dominate the game every time.

Zeattle with the statement game
Reality or overreaction: Reality
After starting off 0-1 vs the rams,Z and his Seahawks rattled off 8 straight and alot of folks were saying it was a “cupcake” schedule and unimpressive but all you can do is play what’s infront of you and he handled business. Until week 11 vs the rams where fell in another 3 point lost and then followed that up with a game where CEO made a huge comeback and got his statement game vs the Seahawks. Since then Z won a close one vs Dallas and then smacked CEO with a very effective run game and a perfect passing game going 15/15 259 yards and 3 TDs. Seahawks overall showed the skill gap is there for 40 mins and their team can compete right now with the NFC super teams.

Nobody else getting smacked around like vet
Reality or overreaction: Reality
After starting 2-0 with wins against que&dk there were murmurs around PML wondering if this is a new vet. But that quickly died down and now vet is right where he was last cycle. Since his week 9 tie vs the patriots, vet and his Commanders have lost 4 straight in blowout fashion with a combined score of 214 to 45! Yes vet has only scored 45 points and has given up 214 points in his last 16 quarters. I’m not sure how many of us have ever experienced something like that but it doesn’t sound very fun.

Saints might get the 1 seed.
Reality or overreaction: Reality
There is a shocking change in PML events, the Saints might be on pace to getting the one seed. Now let’s look at their division. The Panthers and Bucs are under .500 while the Falcons are few games behind the Saints sitting at 7-6. The roster is in cap h*** but they are taking advantage of what they have. Let’s not forget this team is getting all types of content with being under the use of a top 10 team builder in JC. His time commitment plus good gameplay make him a problem in the NFC. Who would’ve thought that the NFC might have to actually go through New Orleans? PML has all sorts of talent coaching wise right now.

The Bears are underrated.
Reality or overreaction: Reality
Coming into this cycle you would think the Bears would have a decent cycle. Every now and then you see Jefe drop his injury report in chat and you think that Bears team is completely depleted, when they are actually playing their tails off and are over .500. This might not be the best team in the NFC North but they certainly have way better starting points than others. They have a 90+ speed QB with 90+ throw power in Justin Fields. They have a superstar WR1 in DJ Moore. The defense is atrocious for them however, but they have decent pieces in the secondary. Offensively, this team is not that bad. It is just their defense is one of the worst in the league ON PAPER. The fact that the Bears are this competitive speaks volumes to the coaching going on in Chicago.

HD is using the Player Props as a scheme to easily feed himself content points
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
Am I taking this stand just because I won myself 30 content points in my first attempt at doing player props this week? Maybe… BUT! I do think that player props is an essential part of PML and nothing else had me focused on what was going on in certain games in a PML week. Not just the results, but I was actually watching the stream of a meaningless game between the Bucs and Falcons to see if my player prop bet that completed my parlay was going to hit. Getting this kind of interest in our games is vital for the league and it’s really what sets our league apart. Do I think it’s without flaws? No. Some of the props (or a lot of them) seem too straightforward and easy to hit on. However, this is the first season of the cycle so in defense of HD, it can’t be easy to predict individual player stats in the first season. We have yet to see how each user is doing with the new game and new mechanics of it, and that plays a big part in how players perform. Also, each user themself is still discovering their own play-style for the game this year and how it matches up with their new team, so predicting where to set the player prop lines in season 1 of the cycle is challenging. I just think HD needs some time, and also maybe some guidance from an experienced betting line setter, and the player props will become more balanced as the cycle goes on.

Nef has a very real shot at the 7th seed in the playoffs
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
A season 1 playoff appearance would be an incredible achievement for Nef and I think it’s very much in his grasp. Right now he is 7-6 and in 8th place in the NFC just behind the 8-5 Bears. However, the remaining strength of schedule for the Falcons is a 0.462 while the Bears have a remaining strength of schedule of 0.519. On top of that, we might be headed to an incredible showdown for the last wildcard spot in week 17 when the Falcons and Bears face off. The Falcons should be favored in every game leading up to it as well as the Bears should be, so we could be seeing an early playoff-style game in week 17. In the last week of the season, the Falcons will end with a tough matchup against the Saints but they’ll likely be resting all their key players in that game since they should have the division locked up by then. The Bears will finish the season with a tough week 18 matchup of their own as they travel to Green Bay who is currently 1 game ahead of them in the NFC North.

Kmfo is the only coach getting a team on the carousel
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Sorry Miles, you’ve done everything you can son and you still won’t be getting a team, it is what it is. Miles has done everything he can to lock in the first carousel spot and then kmfo came in and took that bih. It sucks in a madden league but having any sort of “Pull” allows you to skip the line sadly, I honestly want kmfo to be the first coach in but also feel bad for miles at the same time. If he didnt go winless in his first stint he could’ve had a better shot but we’ve already seen what Miles can do so I also feel like plays a part but for Bubba, creo and Miles they’ll have to wait another season.

The Afc comes down to Afc West juggernats and that’s it.
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
Don’t get me wrong, I feel like the Chiefs and Chargers are my 2 favorites to play in the afc champ game but I refuse to sleep on the other. In my opinion SP, Beast and Ke are 3 users you can’t sleep on or they’ll send ya a** packing. Sp has tons of playoff experience and he knows that Pats roster oh so well, he’s a guy that can put together a dominant defensive performance against any user especially if he has history vs you so don’t sleep on him if he sends one of those powerhouses. Ke lived in the playoffs last season so you can count him out either, he’s sick in the head when it comes to preparation so I can see him putting together a dominant gameplan to slow down the chiefs/chargers potent offense. From what I see he might know a lil ball and how to attack certain teams so come playoffs I can see him putting together a game where he runs the air outta the ball while completely controlling possession frustrating a user like Codes or Matigy that might want to get it all back in one play. Beast is the wild card here most users don’t know him but I do.. Sleep on beast if you want to as he’s known for putting together a playoff performance that sends one of the heavyweights home very soon.
