PML Week 16 Pick Ems’

PML Pick Ems’ is going to be a weekly segment featuring Greeny, Arod, Cammy, Burn, and I where we predict the winners for every PML game. We will also have excerpts each week from each of us, but these excerpts will feature different topics each week. This week we are focusing on each matchup and discussing around the league in the PML.

Week 16 Matchups –

We were 6-1 on our consensus picks for this week. SPdot handled his business against Kansas City and has soared to the top of the AFC and is in a prime position to win his division and to get a first-round bye, which is something most Patriots in the Tom Brady era are used to. Greeny had an impressive week going 14-2, which increased his lead to five games.

Greeny

Seattle 45 – Tennessee 24:

Dlloyd Mans TF up and Dk Metcalf goes 7 214 and 3 touchdowns. I think the Titans can keep this close for most of the game, but the Zhawks pull away in the 4th. Can Levis make it through an entire game without getting hurt?

Jacksonville 49 – Tampa Bay 42:

Shootout alert. These two coaches are already talking s*** in chat so it’s going to be an interesting game. Bandit has been playing much better lately and Tlaw has been on fire. Baker also had a good season but missed some games. He will keep the Bucs in the game, but Bandit converts some third downs to seal the game late.

Chicago 35 – Arizona 28:

Two coaches who have their running backs going crazy right now. Both are balling out and it’s going to be a battle of who slowed down who the most. Both rosters are subpar, but I give the edge here to the Bears. They have more to play for at this point and find a way to hold off a late comeback by Arizona to clinch the victory and help their playoff chances.

Burn –

Miami 28 – Dallas 24:

The Cowboys are officially on their first losing streak of the year. They lost to the Eagles and now the computer Bills in what could be described as two blowouts. Will it be a third blowout in this game? The Dolphins just suffered a devastating loss last week. Their playoff hopes are in jeopardy and losing by one last week has them itching to get a victory. They are essentially in a play each game like it’s your playoff spot on the line scenario. The Cowboys are already in the playoffs, and it seems they are slumping at the wrong time. I can see the Dolphins taking advantage and handing the Cowboys their third straight loss of the season. Dolphins win 28-24.

New England 31 – Denver 17:

The Patriots are surging at the right time. They just blew out a very good Chiefs team and are looking to put some distance in the AFC East race. Mac Jones is playing well despite his limitations and looks to continue the winning ways in this game. All those wins now moves are paying off for Denver, but it is a little too late. They won’t make the playoffs this season, however, they can end the season on a nice winning streak. Lance is looking to make his mark in this offense and get the ship headed in the right direction in order to have a great season next season. This could be a trap game for New England, however, given their throttling of the Chiefs I see them winning 31-17.

Kansas City 35 – Las Vegas 32:

The Raiders are giving it their all in each game and almost beat the MONSTARS of the AFC West. They were oh so close but yet so far. This sums up their season to a tee. They play well enough to stay in the game but for some reason or another they can’t close the game out. The Chiefs were just blown out by a potential playoff team and it wasn’t a good look. This reminds us of that week one loss to the Lions. It has to make the entire team mad because it’s not something you want to happen this late in the season. The game will be close but Kansas City will pull away at the end. 32-35 KC.

AROD –

Los Angeles Rams 38 – New Orleans 35:

I expect the points to pour in on this one. The Saints currently sit atop of PML with an 11-3 record riding and 8 game win streak. The streak will come to an end as Cookie and the Rams make a last-ditch attempt at the top seed in the NFC. I am not a fan of the Stetson Bennett change at quarterback this late in the season but Cook understands the limitations of the young signal caller and plays to his capabilities. Let’s go Rams upset this week by a field goal.

Pittsburgh 21 – Cincinnati 10:

Both teams are playing for their playoff hopes, with the Steelers having a clear leg up in the standings over the Bengals. The Steelers are struggling since the injury to Zach Wilson and the Curt train has since derailed. Yes, it is possible the Bengals make a late season push for the division but I think it’s really farfetched considering the circumstances. This may be a sloppy, low scoring divisional AFC North style game, but I have to ride with the Steelers here to keep their season alive.

Los Angeles Chargers 45 – Buffalo 31:

I will write this assuming the game is played by Beast, however, not sure if it will be user or CPU bills. The Bills can put up points, the bad news is they also give up 30 points per game. The Allen and Herbert offensive duel should be fun to watch but I think the Chargers make the plays necessary on defense to pull away late in this one. Bills will still be alive in the playoff hunt, but this is a crippling blow to their chances. Chargers roll here by 2 scores in a high scoring affair.

Atlanta 24 – Indianapolis 13:

Atlanta has a generous spot in the schedule before a big showdown with Jefe and the Bears that could ultimately decide the wildcard spots in the NFC. Nef will come out locked and focused and take down the Colts by a wide margin in this one. Take the Falcons and the points if you want to cash on sportsbook with this one.

Cammy –

Green Bay 35 – Carolina 17:

This game isn’t going to be close at all. Green Bay is known for having a nasty user on defense and offense and Carolina is playing without Bryce Young still. This will be a tough game for Carolina to overcome and another game Green Bay can coast through on his quest to the playoffs.

Houston 31 – Cleveland 24:

Texans have kept most of their games close this cycle and I have them in another close game but with the victory once again. The Texans are poised and ready to make a playoff run and the Browns are hoping to do the same but after a tough few weeks it’s going to be hard for them to achieve that if they can’t get in the win column. If the Texans can force the Browns to throw and take Chubb out of this game I have all the confidence in the world they can win.

Minnesota 35 – Detroit 21:

Ever since Goff has got hurt, actually maybe ever since the first game the Lions played the Bears it looks like morale has been low for this Lions team. I think right now they are focusing on getting some good tape on their rookies and to try and build on some stuff for next year. With the Vikings competing for a spot in the playoffs, still I have them emerging victorious.

Fallen –

New York Jets 35 – Washington 10:

I was impressed with how competitive Vet was this week. He has taken some tough losses this season, but he has shown his resiliency to not throw the towel in. I think the Jets have way too much momentum coming into this game and they are going to run the ball right at the tenacious defensive line for the Commanders. The best way to slow down a talented pass rusher is to force them off their block and make them attack the ball carrier instead of the quarterback.

Philadelphia 40 – New York Giants 28:

This is going to be a high scoring game and it should be extremely interesting as this is the first matchup against two coaches who don’t really like one another, or at least appear outwardly not to. I don’t think HD is going to allow his talented team to lose to Burn’s New York Giants. I think Burn is going to be stuffed in the run game, similar to how he has been all season long. Daniel Jones won’t have an answer against the Eagles secondary, although they are statistically one of the worst defenses in the league.

San Francisco 28 – Baltimore 17:

CEO has been struggling and after dropping his last two games, against divisional opponents at that, he’s going to be prepared to avoid an upset heading into this game. He has to find a balance though because Brock Purdy isn’t going to be the answer against a Baltimore defense that ranks in the top ten against the rush, pass, and total yards per game.
