Transcript: Seahawks Head Coach Press Conference

What can you attribute to having one of the top-scoring teams in the league to this point?

Our defense puts us in great positions to score. We've developed a solid system of knowing when we can/can't be aggressive as well as how to get our guys in the best positions to succeed. It hasn't been easy, and there's been a lot of trial and error, but we feel as if we can put up points on any one as long as we prepare accordingly. Geno has played very well for us, and our offensive line has also done a solid job protecting him. Now it's up to me, the play caller, to make things happen.

How much of an impact is it to lose a player like Kenneth Walker III to injury?

Kenneth is a big part of what we do offensively. He's a home run hitter every time he touches the football and has consistently given defenses fits all year long. We hope to have him back (we would have to win a wildcard game) in the playoffs, but this league is unpredictable and we'll have to work with what we have.

How do you see the competition level in the NFC West currently?

The NFC west is insanely competitive. Every week counts, and we can see the perfect example of that as the division will come down to the final week of the regular season. There's a lot at stake, and also a scenario in which one of us misses the playoffs entirely.
