FA Recap W/ Grades… Part 2

85 Star MLB Lavonte David: Texans: 2 Years, 10.8M Salary, 12.8M Bonus: B a pretty standard but good move. Texans get a vet leader at MLB I just don’t love two years but the hope for Houston is that he retires would be my guess.

83 Star TE Dalton Schultz: Vikings: 5 Years, 27.5M Salary, 35M Bonus: C- 12M a year for a TE with 81 speed who’s past his prime is certainly something, especially when you have TJ Hockenson. HE is a solid TE though.

82 Superstar TE Gerald Everett: Broncos: 5 Years, 28.5M Salary, 38M Bonus: F even more money than Schultz got and he’s already 30. Tight ends regress a good amount, this is a bad deal for a player who will only be effective for 1-2 years. His abilities are arm bar and juke box, too, nothing good.

80 Normal SS Jordan Whitehead: Steelers: 2 Years, 5M Salary, 8.2M Bonus: B- Whitehead is a solid safety and this is a solid contract, and I believe they don’t need to be fast to succeed, but he’s not sub lb eligible and I just don’t see him as a difference maker.

80 Star CB Jeff Okudah: Texans: 5 Years, 18.5M Salary, 19.5M Bonus: A+ Okudah is a beast to build at just 25 years old and no real weaknesses, this is a great contract as well. He’ll be an 85 overall sooner than later and could progress to superstar. Very surprised no one tried to overpay.

79 Star HB J.K. Dobbins: Texans: 4 Years, 13.2M Salary, 7.6M Bonus: B+ A reasonable contract for a running back and a running back that Keraun is familiar with and has built already. Another high floor high ceiling star player to boost the Texans.

78 Normal RT Morgan Moses: Patriots: 1 Year, 5.7M Salary, 5.1M Bonus: B a nice one year deal for the 33 year old vet, 58 speed, 48 acceleration is scary in a league with so many speedy talented edge rushers but I’m sure he’ll be an average plug and play for one year.

77 Normal MLB Rashaan Evans: Titans: 2 Years, 5M Salary, 5.4M Bonus: B+ a good contract for a vet LB with no glaring weakness but also no ceiling, really. He helps but how much is the question.

77 Normal ROLB Jadeveon Clowney: Rams: 1 Year, 4.2M Salary, 4.9M Bonus: B+ a good one year depth deal that will help the Rams when injuries or whatever happens. No downside on this contract since its 1 year.

77 Normal WR D.J Chark Jr: Jaguars: 3 Years, 10.8M Salary, 7.2M Bonus: B- a very reasonable contract for a tall and fast wr but I just don’t see him making a real difference as a wr2 or 3.

76 Normal LT Andrew Norwell: Rams: 1 Year, 5.2M Salary, 5M Bonus: B a fine 1 year deal for a vet LT, nothing to report here.

76 Star LG Ezra Cleveland: Buccaneers: 5 Years, 27.5M Salary, 27.5M Bonus: A I love this deal as it isn’t cheap but it’s for a young OL who can progress and be a staple for the whole cycle. Filled a position of need for the next 4 seasons.

76 Normal WR Isaiah McKenzie: Chiefs: 1 Year, 2.2M Salary, 1.7M Bonus: C+ short and quick for a cheap one year contract. Just kind of hanging out with the Chiefs for fun.

76 Normal WR Jamal Agnew: Titans: 1 Year, 3M Salary, 4M Bonus: D- 7M for a return specialist is crazy but we’ve seen what Dlloyd can do on returns I guess. Just feel like there must have been better or cheaper options.

76 Star HB Roschon Johnson: Ravens: 2 Years, 4.6M Salary, 2.6M Bonus: B- I like the contract and he’s a young star but there’s a reason he hasn’t been sticking around on teams. 86 speed 89 acceleration just isn’t enough to produce in PML.

76 Normal C Tyler Biadasz: Cardinals: 5 Years, 16M Salary, 19M Bonus: A similar to cleveland but cheaper and just a bit worse. I love when you can fill a position for the cycle without overpaying crazy.

75 Normal CB William Jackson III: Colts: 1 Year, 1.6M Salary, 1.6M Bonus: B+ good one year depth deal at cornerback. Can play wherever and no huge weakness to exploit.

75 Normal K Cameron Dicker: Giants: 1 Year, 1.1M Salary, 1.3M Bonus: C+ why give a kicker who’s 24 a 1 year deal? Lock him down for the cycle he’s got the kick power.

74 Normal DT Matthew Ioannidis: Browns: 1 Year, 1.6M Salary, 3.6M Bonus: B+ I’m sure KMFO has a plan for his 95 strength, a good 1 year deal to help that inside run stuff in short yardage and goal-line situations.

74 Normal RT George Fant: Ravens: 1 Year, 3.3M Salary, 3.4M Bonus: B- a fine one year deal to play RT, is pretty quick but not very strong but I still like it.

74 Normal LG Andrus Peat: Giants: 1 Year, 1.6M Salary, 2.3M Bonus: B+ a good one year deal for a guy who played very well last season at multiple positions.

73 Normal DT Maurice Hurst: Titans: 1 Year, 1.7M Salary, 3.6M Bonus: B another vet for the Titans that is good depth on a fine 1 year deal, but not moving any needle, just helping when the starters go down.

73 Normal LT Ja’Wuan James: Raiders: 1 Year, 3M Salary, 3M Bonus: D The contract is fine and its 1 year but he’s slow and weak like pick a struggle. He’s gonna get torched if he’s a plug and play but if he’s depth he’s fine.

73 Normal DT Andrew Billings: Patriots: 1 Year, 1.7M Salary, 3.6M Bonus: C+ nothing special, a one year veteran deal for the New England defensive line.

71 Normal CB Keion Crossen: Rams: 1 Year, 2M Salary, 1.5M Bonus: B+ Didn’t play all season one but he’s got the speed to be a solid slot corner with his height being short and I know cook will user slot guys so I see the vision. A nice cheap one year deal for a 28 year old, too.

70 Star HB Trestan Ebner: Chiefs: 1 Year, 1.8M Salary, 600k Bonus: A- the Chargers ship off Ekeler and didn’t re-sign the backup who looked very impressive so he goes to the division rival Chiefs on a cheap deal I wish was more than 1 year. Pacheco is the guy but Ebner is an ideal backup.

70 Normal TE OJ Howard: Panthers: 2 Years, 3.2M Salary, 5.6M Bonus: B+ not really a needle mover but a good contract not overly long or expensive for a tall and fast tight end. Not much upside but a good move.

68 Normal CB Chris Claybrooks: Chiefs: 1 Year, 1.2M Salary, 400k Bonus: B- shorter and worse than Crossen but equally as fast he can do something while usered but not much outside of that. 1 year deal makes sense to see if he can do something.

67 Normal MLB Tanner Muse: Vikings: 2 Years, 5M Salary, 5M Bonus: B Vikings get their user but he has to be usered because 90 speed is his only attribute that isn’t bad. At 27 years old he isn’t becoming something either, a fine deal but can only do whatever Wimmy can make him do.

67 Normal CB Josh Blackwell: Falcons: 1 Year, 1.3M Salary, 300k Bonus: B people love their fast and short cheap, bad corners I guess. I can’t hate on a fine depth or special teams deal.

66 Normal LOLB Kyron Johnson: Browns: 3 Years, 6M Salary, 3.3M Bonus: B- 92 speed 93 acceleration is scary but like Muse there isn’t much he can do without the user controlling him. His contract is fine but nothing to brag about.

65 Normal TE JJ Arcega-WHiteside: Panthers: 2 Years, 2.6M Salary, 3.4M Bonus: B+ Here comes the Carolina tight ends again as JT signs his second fast TE to a good 2 year deal. Will they see the field or just be there to get some AR is the question?
