Patriots Season 1 Retrospective

pWeek 1: 36-17 Win over the Eagles. This was an ugly raining game, but it would be a sign of things to come for our season. We kept a balanced attack, kept it efficient on both sides of the ball, and executed when we needed to. Player of the game: Mac Jones 304 yards 3 TDs 0 INT

Week 2: 28-25 Loss to the Dolphins. The Terron Armstead game. Sometimes you feel like you did enough to win and don’t come out with the win. Down game for the offense but the defense played well. Player of the game: Jonathan Jones 1 INT 1 TD

Week 3: 27-13 win over the Jets. Big division win and a great performance by the defense. MVP Dalvin Cook got his yards but was not able to get in the endzone. The offense executed their plays when needed, including a pick 6 by Jabrill Peppers. Player of the game: Jabrill Peppers 2 tackles 1 INT 1 TD

Week 4: 38-38 tie against the Dallas Cowboys. Missed a field goal in overtime to come out with a win, but still able to avoid the loss. Poor performance by our defense, especially against the run. 240 rush yards allowed, and 591 total yards allowed. Player of the game: Jabrill Peppers 4 tackles 2 INT 1 TD

Week 5: 20-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints. A 3 point loss to the NFC’s one seed, but a very disappointing performance by our offense. Defense played great forcing 2 turnovers and allowing only 20 points. Run game wasn’t clicking, low percentage throws on offense, definitely did not play our best football. Player of the game: Kyle Dugger 2 INT

Week 6: 47-26 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. One of Mac Jones’ worst games of the year, but the defense and offensive line step up to help him out and exit the death star with a win. Davante Adams going down in the 3rd quarter was a huge piece to winning this game. 4 turnovers forced by the defense and 240 yards on the ground. Player of the game: Ezekiel Elliott 17 carries 138 yards 2 TD 2 rec 54 yards.

Week 7: 41-21 win over the Buffalo Bills. Controlling attack on offense combined with forcing turnovers on defense. We pick up a huge division win. 100 yards each for Stevenson and Elliott. 3 interceptions by the defense. Player of the game: Tyquan Thornton 8 rec 124 yards 2 TD

Week 8: 38-28 loss to the Dolphins. Just as we thought we were turning the corner, we lose one of our most frustrating games of the season. Gashed on outside zones all game we simply could not stop the run game. Another loss to the same division opponent we felt we missed a chance against early in the season. Player of the Game: Rhamondre Stevenson 13 carries 149 yards 1 TD

Week 9: 33-33 Tie with the Washington Commanders. This might have been the most frustrating game of the season. SO MANY MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. 3 overthrown touchdowns and 2 uncontested dropped touchdowns including a game winner in overtime. Poor run defense as well. Player of the game: Mike Gesicki 5 catches 147 yards.

Week 10: 37-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts. This game was in hand, and we folded to give the colts a chance to tie on the last play before they threw a pick-6 to end the game. Disappointing game for the offense, but some great plays made by the D. Player of the game: Christian Gonzalez 3 tackles 1 INT 1 TD.

Week 11: BYE WEEK

Week 12: 37-24 win over the New York Giants. Poor game from Mac Jones, but 3 turnovers forced by the defense help to give us the win. Good game on the ground from Rhamondre Stevenson. Player of the game: Ameer Speed 4 tackles 2 INT 1 TD

Week 13: 31-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The game where we really started to believe in ourselves as contenders. Out manned from a talent perspective, but we played well, caught a nice break and came out with a win. Player of the game: Rhamondre Stevenson 129 total yards and 3 TD

Week 14: 38-29 win over the Steelers. The defense and special teams won us this game against another tough defense. Offense did just enough for the win. Player of the game: Kyle Dugger 5 tackles 2 INT

Week 15: 41-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Our statement game. Offense rolled in the first half and the Defense played well the whole game. Player of the game Tyquan Thornton 5 REC 185 Yards 3 TD

Week 16: 45-36 win over the Denver Broncos. An awful game from our defense, especially on the ground. Offense put the team on their back and the defense mad a key stop on 4th down to win. Players of the game Mac Jones and Matt Corral combined 395 and 4 TD

Week 17: 34-28 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Frustrating division loss in multiple aspects. Key mistakes at critical times during the game. Wake up call before the playoffs. Player of the game: Tyquan Thornton 6 rec 176 yards 2 TD

Week 18: 45-34 win over the New York Jets to seal the division. Not much to be said good win, and an opponent we see again next week. Player of the game Ezekiel Elliott 132 rush yards and 2 TD

Wildcard Round: 30-23 win over the New York Jets. Huge to get a playoff win in our first season. Defense made key stops and offense executed when needed. Player of the game: Michael Onwenu

Divisional round: 40-13 win over the Steelers. Offense imposed their will and the defense capitalized and forced turnovers. Big moment is Jabrill Peppers pick 6 before halftime. Players of the game Jabrill Peppers and Ameer Speed with 3 combined INT.

Conference Championship: 31-17 win over the Buffalo Bills. After a few mistakes early we rebound and play a great second half to come away with a 2 possession win. Player of the Game: 149 yards and 3 TD

Super Bowl: 35-38 loss to the LA Rams. Hats off to the Rams for this one. The first time we felt flustered all season. Down 21 points we fight back all the way to tie the game with a minute left, but lose on a last second field goal.
