How has Zack Martin’s experience in the league helped the team so far?
Zack Martin is a once in a generation talent and we are thankful to be able to witness such a dynamic.playwr operating on the offensive line week in and week out. His skill and talent at the Guard position has done alot not only for our team but also for the lwague, in terms of demonstrating why developing and building in the trenches is important for a teams success.
Over your career, what makes a team better at not turning the ball over as the season goes along? What kind of things you need to emphasize? How much of it is coaching? How much of it is a mental part? Physical part?
In my experience turnovers are a result of getting away from your teams gameplan. The focus of every team going into a game is to execute the plays that they've practiced and that they've felt would be successful against their opponent but during a game, who those plays aren't executed,or you find yourself in a high pressure situation, many coaches tend to make adjustments. Often times it is those adjustments within the game that causes coaches to go away from what works well and that is where turnovers are most likely to occur. The teams who are able to remain poised and confident in their playcalling and execution are the ones who avoid making turnovers. We demonstrated this poise and focus last season having Dak Prescott Throw for over 40 td's while keeping his int count below 20. This poise and focus is something we look to duplicate this upcoming season.
Some would say your roster is one of the better teams in the league. Would you agree with that? Do you see any weaknesses in your team as you self-scout?
For those who say we have one of the best rosters in the league our response to them is we agree. We have no reason to shy away from having built one of the best teams in the keague, however games are not won by names on paper, the games are won by the players on the field. So it does us no good to have a team that great of paper if the coaching and execution doesn't come together with that talent on the field. This past draft we feel like we've addressed the weaknesses we had on both the offense and defense. We needed to get stronger in the trenches and that's exactly what we did. Very excited for this upcoming season and the future of our franchise as long as I'm at the helm.
