Can you talk about the development of Braelon Allen so far?

Absolutely. Braelon's development has been nothing short of remarkable. From the moment he joined us, his work ethic and dedication were evident. He's a young player, just 20 years old, but the maturity and professionalism he brings to the table are beyond his years. On the field, his transition from college to PML has been impressive. His ability to understand and adapt to our West Coast Spread/Multiple Offense has been a key factor in his rapid development.

His physical attributes were never in question – the power, speed, and agility he possesses are exceptional. But what has really stood out is his mental approach to the game. He's a quick learner, absorbing our playbook and understanding the nuances of our offensive scheme. His vision on the field, ability to find gaps in the defense, and his decision-making when hitting the holes have improved with each practice. We're seeing a player who's not just relying on his physical talents but is developing a deep understanding of the game. That's what excites us the most about Braelon.

How quickly can you tell if a young player is a football player if he thinks about it because it seems like at the Combine they’re all saying the right thing and it’s the job. How quickly does it take?

That's a great question. Identifying a true football player goes beyond the physical skills showcased at the Combine. Those are important, but the real test begins when they step onto the field for training and start interacting with the team. Typically, it takes a few weeks to gauge a player's true potential and football IQ.

What we look for is how they adapt to the professional environment, their ability to learn and apply coaching, and their interaction with teammates. A key indicator is their approach to challenges – do they step up, do they show resilience, and how do they handle feedback? It's also about their passion for the game. You can often tell if a player is a 'football player' by their enthusiasm, their willingness to go the extra mile, and their understanding of the game's intricacies. With Braelon, for instance, it was evident quite early that he wasn't just a physically gifted athlete but someone deeply passionate and knowledgeable about football.

Can you speak to the overall team health?

I'm pleased to report that our team is in excellent health at this point. We've been fortunate to avoid major injuries, which is always a concern in this sport. Our medical and training staff have done an outstanding job in ensuring our players are well-prepared, physically fit, and that minor issues are addressed promptly to prevent them from becoming major concerns.

This healthy status allows us to focus on our game plans and strategies without the added challenge of significant player absences. It also speaks volumes about the professionalism of our players in taking care of their bodies and following the training and medical advice given to them. A healthy roster gives us the best chance to compete at the highest level, and we're optimistic about what we can achieve with our current squad.
