Cook’s 2024 Draft Class Grades: Picks 11-20! Pre AND Post-DDT Grades

#11 NYG Selects QB Quinn Ewers
Pre DDT Grade: C-
Pre DDT Analysis: Soooo….the Giants traded up to 11 to make this pick. The only reason why this pick doesn’t get an F off the bat is because Ewers played for the CFB champs and should get a good dev trait. But holy cow, if he gets Star or Normal is this a surefire F! And the trade up gets a F-!

Post DDT Grade: F
Post DDT Analysis: Well I’m a man of my word. Star dev means F! Disasterclass by the Giants front office.

#12 MIN Selects OLB Dallas Turner
Pre DDT Grade: B+
Pre DDT Analysis: Dallas Turner was a definite top 15 prospect. Do I love the pick? Not exactly, but I see the vision. Dallas Turner is supposed to be the Trenton Simpson Wimmy had last cycle. While he’s a bit of a raw prospect, he went to the right coach.

Post DDT Grade: A-
Post DDT Analysis: Star dev keeps things relatively the same. But I’d expect a breakout story soon.

Post DDT Grade: Same

#13 TB Selects CB Myles Jones
Grade: A-
Analysis: I mean look…the elephant in the room is that this man has sub 60 ratings for man, zone, and press. But he is 6’5 and 95 speed. Tariq Woolen was dominant last cycle as a rookie under 70 OVR based on his physicals alone. And after a season of content, oh boy Myles Jones can have Cammy looking like a genius!

Post DDT Grade: Same
Post DDT Analysis: I don’t think we were expecting a dev for a CB out of Duke. He’s still a physical freak.

#14 LV Selects Rome Odunze
Grade: A
Analysis: I mean the Raiders got someone very similar to Xavier Worthy, whom they passed on drafting at #4 overall by trading down to pick 14. For the trade the Raiders get an A+, for the pick they still get an A.

Post DDT Grade: A+
Post DDT Analysis: This is a borderline A+ now with Star dev.

#15 KC Selects WR Keon Coleman
Pre DDT Grade: C+
Pre DDT Anaylsis: Hey man, Keon Coleman will be a great player. But there were 2 WRs that I think the Chiefs would rather have taken that went later in the round, and that’s a big deduction on the grade. But make no mistake, Coleman is in a perfect spot to excel as a #1 WR with All-Pro Patrick Mahomes

Post DDT Grade: C
Post DDT Analysis: Yea…Normal dev seals the deal that this could’ve been a better pick. But look, a 21 year old beast is still in KC.

#16 MIA Selects RT Kingsley Suamataia
Pre DDT Grade: D
Pre DDT Analysis: A big ugly finally got picked! And…he shouldn’t have. Not this one. Not here. Run blocking grade is atrocious, strength is sub-optimal, and he’s an lineman going at pick 16! If you go oline here, he better be GREAT, not just meh.

Post DDT Grade: C
Post DDT Analysis: Hey man, he got Star dev. Yay?

#17 TEN Selects WR Troy Franklin
Pre DDT Grade: A+
Pre DDT Analysis: Franklin is the full package out of the gate. Physical WR, solid route runner, and good RAC ability. Incredible value at pick 17!

Post DDT Grade: A++
Post DDT Analysis: AND he gets SS dev? God golly, the Titans had themselves one h*** of a draft.

#18 MIA Selects OLB Barrett Carter
Pre DDT Grade: F
Pre DDT Analysis: Let’s put the fact that Miami traded Jaylen Waddle to get this pick to the side. Judging this pick alone…this is a face palm. This guy can’t really set the edge, absolutely cannot rush the passer, and he went this high? Y-I-K-E-S!

Post DDT Grade: Same
Post DDT Analysis: Yea…just an epic fail here. Why was this guy even high enough on your draft board to get auto-picked at 18?

#19 NO Selects MLB Smael Mondon Jr
Pre DDT Grade: A+
Pre DDT Analysis: Without a doubt the best inside LB prospect, Mondon comes into the NFL as a day 1 game wrecker with an even high ceiling once he gets some AR into him. The Saints moved back 5 spots from pick 14, just get a guy they would’ve taken at pick 14 anyways. A masterful trade.

Post DDT Grade: Same
Post DDT Analysis: Star dev would’ve been nice, but like Bowers he’s still a physical beast regardless of dev.

#20 TB Selects TE Jaheim Bell
Grade: B+
Analysis: Another raw prospect, but these are the kind of players that GMs fall in love with at the combine and bet on their potential. Even when they know the skill is not there right away. Bell is a bit undersized at 6’3, but he’s found a good home in the pass heavy Bucs system.

Post DDT Grade: Same
Post DDT Analysis: A good pick by the Bucs, but Jatavion Sanders getting SS dev makes you wonder if the Bucs should’ve picked the CFB champ over the faster Bell.
