Transcript: Browns Head Coach Press Conference

What are your thoughts about the Bengals going into this week?

It's always a challenge opening up your season with a division opponent. These games just mean more and this Ohio rivalry is real. The energy and anticipation is already at peak levels for the season opener, and then to add on that it's a game against our big inner-state rivals will make this really fun. We want to get our season off on the right foot but we also know this is a 17 game season that'll spans over 4 months. It's a marathon of a season and this week is just the beginning of it.

Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Joe Burrow?

Facing a player like Joe Burrow demands thorough preparation. His adaptability, strong arm, and ability to read defenses make him a challenging opponent. We’ve been studying his gameplay, analyzing his tendencies, and developing strategies to disrupt his rhythm. It’s crucial to be disciplined, maintain pressure, and execute our game plan effectively to contain his impact on the field. It’s going to be a test of our team’s skills and collective effort. It is a full team effort. We must limit his time on the field and also make sure he doesn't get any short fields to work with.

What stands out about your opponent's defense?

The bengals like to send pressure, and they are well coached. We expect them to know our tendencies and call defenses that'll make it challenging to do what we like to do. So it'll be important that we stay focused throughout the game and make adjustments as we need to. We will have wrinkles we haven't shown yet and we will just have to wait and see how our opponent handles everything we plan on throwing at them
