Power Rankings Week 3: Browns on the rise while the Cowboys remain in unfamiliar territory

1. Houston Texans (2-0): No Stroud, no problem! Mad Max Duggan filled in for the suspended CJ Stroud and helped lead them to a close victory over the Jets. The Texans sport the 31st ranked rushing offense through two games, but I expect them to balance that number out over the next few games.

2. New England Patriots (2-0): It’s the quarterback carousel in New England with Mac Jones getting the start this week, but he was impressive against the Packers. He had a 120 QBR that helped edge the Patriots to a narrow one score victory this week.

3. New Orleans Saints (2-0): Saints are rolling right now and taking care of business. Aside from their playoff exit, they’ve looked like one of, if not the best team in the PML since the start of the cycle. Many are still not sold though.

4. Cleveland Browns (2-0): The Sportsbook spread wins again, but KMFO winning this week was expected, it was a toss up on how much he’d win by though. Giving up 412 yards per game through two weeks wasn’t something I thought we’d see, but there is still to clean up the defensive side of the ball for the Browns.

5. Las Vegas Raiders (2-0): For whom the ball tolls, the Raiders had four total wins all of last season and in two weeks, they’ve met half of those wins. You can hear the allegations rising, but Josh Jacobs is on a warpath and KingMike has gotten back to playing winning football thanks to playing to the strengths of his roster.

6. Kansas City Chiefs (2-0): Despite losing Chris Jones, Kansas City has only given up an average of 80 rushing yards through two games. They’re ranked number two in the league in that category, that’s an impressive feat for a team that doesn’t have an anchor on that defensive front.

7. Los Angeles Rams (2-0): Rams continue to roll and are solidifying themselves as the early favorite to repeat in the NFC. Kind of impressive given the tedious balance between winning games and developing rookies.

8. Seattle Seahawks (2-0): The Seahawks fly under the radar when you talk about the cream of the crop in the NFC. As consistent as they come, but still not good enough for most. A deep playoff run is almost expected this year, or possibly even a Super Bowl appearance to garner the respect the Seahawks rightfully deserve.

9. Minnesota Vikings (1-1): Did I speak too soon about the Vikings success? Many are saying Wimmy just doesn’t have it anymore. I still think the roster isn’t exactly where he wants it to be and it’ll be another season or so until we see the competitive Wimmy we all know and expect.

10. Detroit Lions (2-0): Some say the Lions are destined to win the division, others are still not convinced. Fallen has Wimmy and Tbandit on the schedule next, lets see if the Lions could start the season 4-0 and convince us he is for real.
11. Green Bay Packers (1-1): They were just outclassed on the road by the defending Super Bowl champions. Sure they didn’t have Aaron Jones, but the rest of the roster still a lot better than what the Patriots are rolling out. A week 3 matchup against the Titans should re-build some confidence before a tough stretch on the schedule.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1): Cammy narrowly took down the NFC champion Rams this past week. Baker Mayfield continues to be a volume passer, slinging the rock nearly 50 times yet again with only 1 turnover. Rookie RB Roc Taylor continues to make an early case for ROY.

13. Denver Broncos (1-1): Taking a loss in PML is tough. Taking a loss to an opponent that you think you would have beat is tougher, and losing to the computer is the worst. DK and the Broncos lose this week and allowed a computer controlled Trevor Lawrence to throw 4 touchdowns, tough break.

14. Philadelphia Eagles (1-1): Eagles fall back down to earth dropping yet another to Burn and the Giants. HD is now 0-3 against the Giants this year and cannot seem to figure out how to take down his division mate early in the cycle. A big prove me game for both sides this week puts the Eagles against Miles and the Commanders.

15. Buffalo Bills (1-1): Josh Allen leads the league in interceptions and it cost Buffalo a win this week. Allen carelessly threw into coverage, including a game sealing interception that targeted Stefon Diggs. Beast is hurrying his reads instead of targeting the open receiver and that’s not what helped him in his magical playoff run last season.

16. Los Angeles Chargers (1-1): Justin Herbert only threw 8 interceptions last season, but he has amassed 5 so far this season. Codes has to protect the ball better if he wants to find success this season in his division.

17. Arizona Cardinals (1-1): Que is out to earn the respect of his PML peers this year, and if he continues to play the way he did week 2, he will certainly earn it sooner than later. For now, the Cardinals remain an underdog story and will have to scratch and claw all season to secure a playoff berth.

18. New York Giants (1-1): Great moral victory against HD and the Eagles this past week. However, reality bites because up next is the Cleveland Browns. I don’t see a win streak in the cards for the Giants just yet, but good to see them taking down division mates in what is looking like anyone’s division this season.

19. Chicago Bears (1-1): Jefe gets into the win column as he prepares for an NFC championship rematch against Cook and the Rams. The tables have turned and the Bears find themselves as underdogs in the rematch. And yes, Marvin Harrison Jr. found the endzone week 1.

20. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1): Trust in the CPU. Trevor Lawrence threw for four touchdowns this week and it helped Tbandit. Sitting at 1-1 isn’t a bad spot when relying on the CPU to play your games. A win against Houston next week could have Jacksonville sitting pretty atop their division.

21. Miami Dolphins (1-1): This was a bounce back game for Tua who completed 70% of his passes and threw for two touchdowns. The Dolphins rushed as a team for 170 yards and it was the well balanced approach that helped them keep the Tennessee defense on their toes all game long.

22. San Francisco 49ers (1-1): They dropped a divisional game at home to the Seahawks and the quarterback controversy begins in San Francisco. My thing is this, if you’re comfortable with Purdy, rock out with him. Don’t listen to the peanut gallery or let them dictate the roster moves. Some burning questions are about to arise in San Fran.

23. Washington Commanders (1-1): Victory! Congratulations to Miles on popping his PMLcherry and getting into the win column against the Falcons this past week. Don’t look know but there is a realistic chance the Commanders could find themselves 2-1 and at the top of the NFC East if they could find a way to take down the high powered Eagles this week.

24. Tennessee Titans (0-2): Tennessee had the potential the last two weeks to close out each game, but Dlloyd is missing the clutch gene that helped him go on the magical run towards the end of the season last season. Will Levis threw for four touchdowns, but the Titans’ porous defense allowed almost 500 yards of offense this week to the Dolphins.

25. Pittsburgh Steelers (0-2): They are airing the ball out in the steel city and Zach Wilson is leading the league in passing yards, but that hasn’t been fruitful in acquiring wins this season. Sitting at 0-2 isn’t going to help the Steelers’ chances of getting back to the playoffs this season.

26. Atlanta Falcons (1
0-2): Just when we thought Nef turned a corner, he drops to the Commanders giving Miles his first career PML win. It was a tough one for Nef as he also eliminated himself from knockout and lost Bijan Robinson and Drake London to lengthy injuries. Not too much optimism in Atlanta right now to say the least.

27. New York Jets (0-2): The Jets struggled against Max Duggan this week and this was a game that they should have won. If you can’t beat a CJ Stroud less Texan team, how can you expect to make another playoff push this season?

28. Dallas Cowboys (0-2): As much slack Drama is getting for being 1-1 right now, he played JC relatively close and by no means is he a push over to the top tier users in PML. The jury is indeed still out on the Cowboys, and they could convince us with a week 3 win as Seattle rolls into town.

29. Carolina Panthers (1-1): Panthers find themselves back in the win column by taking down Arod and the Ravens week 2. The rushing attack looked sharp, and the offense controlled the time of possession big time in this one. Could be the recipe for success this season if JT wants to make a premature wildcard push early in the cycle.

30. Indianapolis Colts (0-2): 0 touchdowns and 6 interceptions for Anthony Richardson isn’t what the Colts had in mind when they drafted him last season. Should CB try to trade the second year quarterback and start fresh this cycle?

31. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2): R.I.P Joe Mixon. The Bengals are struggling to move the ball on offense and now they have to rely on their core of high 60 overall rated halfbacks for the foreseeable future. That’s a lot of weight to be placed on Joe Burrow, but he has the ability to get it done if the reads aren’t forced.

32.Baltimore Ravens (0-2): No disrespect to the Carolina Panthers, but this was one of the matchups that the Ravens were favoured in this season. The Ravens don’t have many gimme wins on the schedule, but they have to scheme up a better plan on offense. They ranked in the bottom tier of the league on offense last season and through two games, they are ranked 32 for total yards gained and passing yards per game.
