Each week we will go over the injury report and practice focus players before the game and update the depth chart at that position.
(*) = received a upgrade
Focus Players:
DT Dexter Lawrence: Lawrence is the best defensive player on the Giants. He is the anchor in the middle of the field and he is looking to get better. He almost has an upgrade, and he will be looking to get a speed and block shedding upgrade.
QB Quinn Ewers: Ewers is getting his daily dose of attribute requests in order to develop into a top talent in this league. The cap of 85 is going to stunt his growth at one point so he will be focused each week in order to grow into a better player.
*MLB Bobby Okereke: Okereke seems to have been reduced to the second middle linebacker on the team due to the sheer fact that Simmons is much faster. Okereke isn’t a slouch in the speed dept and looked to get a speed upgrade to take him into that 90 speed tier. Unforneulty, he didn’t get that and only received minimal upgrades.
Injuries:
QB Daniel Jones OVR – 1 week ( Broken Ribs)
Jones is still sidelined for another week, but when he comes back, he will be holding a clop board for Ewers. Jones’ contract is hurting this team and rumors are the Giants front office is working towards a clear cap penalty request in the near future.
RG Jalen Mayfield 69 OVR – 1 Week (Upper Arm Fracture)
He is a quality backup who will miss the game. With the Giants depth at backup lineman he won’t be missed. He got hurt in week 2, on a point after kick.
CB Cordale Flott 73 OVR – 1 Week (Dislocated Wrist)
Flott has been relegated to the bottom of the depth chart due to his speed. He is patiently waiting for his opportunity, however, getting hurt in practice isn’t something that will benefit him.
FS Nick McCloud 71 OVR – 1 Week (ACL Sprain)
McCloud, like Flott, is a backup who is trying to make the starting roster. At the moment a rookie is starting in his spot. Losing your starting spot to a rookie hurts, and getting hurt in practice just makes it worse.
LE Chandler Jones 79 OVR – 2 Weeks (Torn Labrum)
This was a terrible signing for the Giants organization. Jones has been hurt twice now for 3 weeks and were only in week 2. He got hurt the first game in preseason, and now the first game of the regular season. He is extremely fragile and will be cut when he gets healthy again. The Giants organization want to emphasize that if he could be cut while injured, Jones would be out of here.
