Injuries are a part of the game so I enjoy how frequent and common they are in PML and using depth. However, some players have been injured over and over again so here is a team full of players unable to stay healthy and reach their full potential or just adequately help their team. I will note the players overall, dev trait, team, injury/toughness ratings, and number of multi-week injuries. It’s worth noting some of these players have been additionally injured for the rest of certain games and mymadden doesn’t track that and if I remembered a player who has missed games that they started I added them but didn’t add to their multi-week count.
KEY: Overall Dev Name (Team) (Injury/Toughness) (# of Multi-Week Injuries)
Offense
QB: 92 X-Factor Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers) (93/95) (1 Multi-Week Injury)
Herbert has had some injuries that lasted the rest of the games as well but a player like him getting hurt just hurts so hard and Codes would have gotten sympathy if he didn’t open his mouth about Joe Flacco being fine.
HB: 97 X-Factor Nick Chubb (Denver Broncos) (93/92) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
I guess you can call it sim since he’s hurt irl for a long time but Chubb now down for a second time this cycle and he just got traded for the league leader in sacks so this stings.
HB: 89 Superstar Breece Hall (Chicago Bears) (89/90) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Another player that has been unable to finish additional games and also was traded for. Breece has had success in Chicago but can’t stay on the field enough to become that game-changer.
WR: 83 Normal Rondale Moore (Arizona Cardinals) (84/78) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Moore has been down twice this cycle but he’s healthy so far now that he’s on the field less with Worthy. The only player on this list with actually bad injury and toughness, too.
WR: 77 Star Quentin Johnston (Los Angeles Chargers) (89/87) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Here are the poorly conditioned Chargers again as he will have to stay healthy now that Mike Williams is gone to provide for Glass Herbert. Could he be superstar if he wasn’t injured often?
TE: 82 Star Hunter Henry (Los Angeles Rams) (88/93) (3 Multi-Week Injuries)
One of only two players on this list with more than 2 multi-week injuries. Henry is losing his chance to prove himself on a team with young weapons and Cooper Kupp stealing targets.
LT: 93 Superstar Andrew Thomas (New York Giants) (86/86) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Just tough to have an offensive lineman of this caliber go down back to back. Especially in a division with the Eagles, Cowboys, and Commanders defensive lines. Rough
LG: 80 Star Steve Avila (Los Angeles Rams) (91/90) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Offensive linemen progress slowly anyway and Avila is ruining his youth and dev by being injured. He’s progressed nicely through AR at least but he’s just not reliable for an already weak offensive line.
C: N/A
Some good centers have gone down shoutout Ryan Kelly and Erik McCoy injured right now but no prone players it seems.
RG: 81 Star James Daniels (Pittsburgh Steelers) (88/82) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
One of the Steelers best offensive players sadly and he can’t stay on the field. Their run game works well regardless but they are missing some pass protection.
RT: 89 Star Ryan Ramczyk (New York Jets) (89/94) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Would he have been traded for if the Jets knew this was coming? Probably not and it’s hurting the Jets offense while Tippmann and Becton continue to progress.
Defense
EDGE: 78 Normal Marcus Davenport (Minnesota Vikings) (84/81) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
The only edge rusher to have multiple multi-week injuries and the Vikings are one of the few teams this stings for with their lack of defensive playmakers.
EDGE: N/A
DL: 79 Star Bryan Bresee (New Orleans Saints) (85/90) (4 Multi-Week Injuries)
Maybe he just doesn’t want to play for me because what even is this. Only can upgrade with AR since he’s wasting his youth and dev. Not to mention no chance to get to superstar when he’s off the field this much.
DL: 84 Star Christian Barmore (Pittsburgh Steelers) (91/89) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
He’s been traded twice this cycle and been injured as many times. Did these teams know and ship him off? He’s been good when playing but is missing valuable playing time.
ILB: 84 Star Patrick Queen (Baltimore Ravens) (92/84) (2 Multi-Week Injuries)
Only one off-ball linebacker who has been injured this much and luckily it’s the team with Roquan Smith and Trenton Simpson. Hate to see Queen off the field but it’s manageable for the Ravens.
ILB: N/A
A lot of linebacker injuries in real life but not many in PML. Is it luck or is Madden off with how they injure offensive versus defensive players
CB: 97 Superstar Jalen Ramsey (Miami Dolphins) (87/90) (1 Multi-Week Injury)
Hasn’t gotten injured in a PML game yet but he’s here because he got stuck on IR and missed the entirety of season 1. Didn’t really regress thankfully but the Dolphins really could have used him as they barely missed out on the playoffs.
CB: N/A
FS: N/A
SS: N/A
Defensive backs just don’t seem to get injured in Madden and certainly not many multi-week injuries. I almost put Derwin Here just cause it was so untimely but decided not to. PML has so many more offensive players hurt than defensive and on defense, there is less the farther you get from the line at the line of scrimmage. Defensive linemen are hurt pretty often but edge rushers don’t seem to be as injury prone with even less off-ball linebackers and finally barely any defensive backs. Is this good or bad?
*Note: I left out every position without a player that had 2+ multi week-injuries except for QB since Justin Herbert has been hurt for multiple remainders of games that I recall. You guys call it Codes complaining, I call it providing information. I also have Jalen Ramsey with just 1 multi-week injury since his lasted an entire season stuck on IR. I can’t remember enough pre-existing injuries to know if anyone else would have made the list if I knew either better players or players at positions that ended up blank.
*Second Note: When I started this I assumed there would be guys up there with Bryan Bresee who has 4, I think it’s actually been 5 and he’s missing one on mymadden l***. I don’t want to hear anymore complaining about repeat injury prone guys because Bryan Bresee is made of glass. His stamina is 78 which isn’t great so maybe that’s why but there are plenty of players with worse injury, toughness, and stamina who aren’t getting injured like Bresee is. Obviously, there’s some sort of random injury bug players can have but then that could be a trait or something so I can know. Like do I trade him or just continue to be optimistic that this injury will be the last one.
*Third Note: I’m sure there are more injury prone players that just get hurt a lot and don’t get multi-week injuries and I missed them. I only used what I remembered and the injury history on mymadden. Feel free to tell me but I’m not going to update or make a second article.
