HD will finally secure a division title
Reality or Overreaction: Overreaction
Hd has been in the lead for some time now with the previous division leader Cowboys starting 2-5. Eagles have been cawing louder than ever and can sense the blood in the water, but overall has failed to take control dropping 2 games to the cowboys for their first 2 wins of the season and dropped a game to the giants early on. It just feels like he’s fumbling the bag again, the tiebreakers most likely won’t be going his way as the Giants and cowboys already are doing better within div and conference for Giants. Eagles will also have the hardest remaining schedule, while the Giants have the easiest remaining schedule. Cowboys will finish off the szn with a below average strength of schedule. So once again HD has put himself in a position to fall hard.

Nefarious will never put it together
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
S*** is harder than it looks, to go from a perennial loser who has never put together 17 games of football to a perennial playoff contender is a lot of work and requires you to be disciplined and consistent. Nefarious just isn’t any of those 3 things and you can see it game in and game out. Sitting at 5-6 these falcons are the definition of mid being 13th in PPG and 21st in PPG allowed. And that’s quite different from last szn when they finished in 24th PPG and 2nd in PPG allowed. Nef unable to buy into a winning playstyle is another problem for him, part of him wants to air it out with his shiny weapons while the other part knows he should be feeding Bijian. Its created a very inorganic playstyle where he is forcing the ball to covered guys while there is so much open elsewhere. As for his competition, saints will probably lead this div every szn, bucs have failed the first 2 szns but are rebuilding nicely and overall looks like the better user and will be looking to make noise in the next few szns. And last but not least the panthers, I believe this one of JTs best cycles in terms of szn 1 & 2, so maybe we see some szn 4 magic along with szn 5 but overall Nef really needed to take advantage of half his div not competing for the playoffs these first 2 szns.

Trade Committee dropped the ball, yet again, with the Jets / Bears deal last season
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
The Bears do not own their first round pick since the trade committee thought it was best for them to send two first for RB Breece Hall. Yes, another case of the trade committee ‘knowing’ what is best for everyone that was complete BS when the teams were initially sending a first. When do we finally agree it’s time that the trade committee is not best for business? Even the Jets owner agreed he was receiving too much in the deal by obtaining two first round picks. Fast forward today, he’s got himself a potential top 5 pick to go with the other 1st round pick he got last year for a fregin RB star dev running back at the time. In what world is a 80 overall star dev running back worth two first round picks? Nobody barely even spends a first round pick on a sure thing at RB via draft. We’re really going sit here and pretend the trade committee didn’t mess things up for the Bears at this point? Obviously there is no accountability geared towards the trade committee for assisting in sabotaging other peoples teams, so why even have them in place? If you ask me, a bunch of morons who feel important by having a drop of power over others. Yeah, take it personal behind your masks. Great job trade committee! Saving us from ourselves one denial at a time.

Zach Wilson for a 3rd round pick has been the best trade all cycle
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
Zach Wilson was obtain for a 3rd round pick last season, in a move that helped push the Steelers towards their divisional crown (besides a few weeks of injury). Zach has proven to be the man in Pittsburgh and believe it or not, he is putting up some top QB numbers this season. Wilson leads the NFL in passing with 3,482 yards entering week 12, and is 3rd in touchdown passes with 30 so far. As of today, the Steelers sit tied for the final wildcard spot in the AFC, and if Zach could stay healthy and on the field, you have to think the Steelers could be the team standing tall in the end. He has all the attributes and fixings to be a top 5 draft pick, and at just 26 years old he still has the potential to develop into a premier qb in the league. 93 throw power, 89, 87, 86 short/medium/long accuracy, I think teams drafting a quarterback in the first round last season are crazy not to do their due diligence on a potential deal for Wilson at the time. Great move by Curt. It wasnt a homerun at the time, but as we see teams using their first on some raw QB last draft, this was a no-brainer.

Madden is Striking More of a Balance With Attributes
Reality or Overreaction: Reality
I know this is something that has been touched on before and been a topic as of late, but I think Madden has done an excellent job in recent years, especially this year, with making more attributes than just speed matter. We are seeing fast players utilized across the board as always, but they may be lacking in other departments such as tackling, height, and etc applicable to certain positions. We are seeing fast linebackers with poor attributes not able to wrap up as often in the past, fast corners getting burnt by slower wide receivers due to route running and other facets of the intricate game of football that we play. We see a ton of other examples across the board that I could ramble on and on about, but it’s just nice and refreshing to see that Madden has made strides in this field. We know Madden is far from perfect, but we’ll take these little wins when we can get them for sure.

Injuries are Becoming More Realistic
Reality or overreaction: Reality
This is also another hot topic as of late, as we are seeing a ton of injuries this cycle, and it has been reoccurring for some players. Same thing applies here, where we are far from perfect in this field, but Madden has made some solid strides this year. It’s realistic because players who are injured can be completely due to random events, and some players are always dealing with injuries. We are seeing players across the league who get injured, come back, and then get reinjured. Does it suck? Yes. It’s probably the worst thing about sports. However, we see this all the time in real life with wide receivers dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, or just unexplainable reasons as to why to why some guys are always dealing with injuries nonstop, despite how fit they appear to be. Do some things need to be tweaked as far as the injuries that they are sustaining being more realistic rather than torn labrum after torn labrum. Yes, but seeing more injuries holds us accountable to be better at team building and consider building depth in areas we otherwise may not have considered before, just like real life.
