Transcript: Seahawks Head Coach Press Conference

How is the team handling the bye week this week?

This is a tough week for the team. A lot of the players that participated in the last three games won't find themselves on the final 53. We appreciate their contributions (with the exception being the ones that suffered multi-week injuries) and have some tough decisions to make regarding who pushes forward to the regular season. The starters will watch plenty of film, and make sure they're ready for next week.

The majority of your team is under the age of 26. Is that a conscious effort to have such a young team?

We aim to have a quality roster filled with both young talent and savvy veterans. However, the way things have transpired this year, we have introduced an influx of talent to the roster and could not be more excited with the direction the team is heading in. We believe we're primed to perform this season, and look to get the ball rolling early and often.

Who is your quarterback, and why?

Bo Nix. He just found his stride before suffering a season-ending injury in the game against San Francisco last season. We look forward to seeing him grow throughout this year and hopefully assert himself as the true QB1. Although Sam Howell stepped up toward the end of the year, it was not enough for him to return as the team's starter.
