What are your thoughts about the Giants going into this week?
It's week 1. Clean slate for everyone, Level playing field for everyone. We can't underestimate anyone this early in the season. We know that they stop the run well and play good defense in general. Their offense is susceptible to turnovers so we hope to get them into 3rd and long situations and force mistakes in those opportunities.
How has Kirk Cousins’s experience in the league helped the team so far?
Kirk's role on this team is one solely as a mentor. If he plays a single important snap this season, things have gone seriously awry. Even if injuries occur, we will look for alternatives. Kirk might as well be considered the assistant QB coach for all I care right now. And he knows. We were very transparent in FA talks. But that experience is incredibly valuable for the couple young QBs also in the room.
How do you feel about your team's depth chart after the offseason changes?
I feel great about our depth coming into this season. Our Defensive line has more than one player deep at some positions. Our MLBs depth has increased as well, but we've really built depth in the trenches on the offensive side. We drafted 2 new guards, one of which will be starting week 1. But the team feels much more built from the ground up this year. Previous year's depth chart have felt quite top heavy, with talent thinly spread throughout.
