Transcript: Commanders Head Coach Press Conference

How does the week’s preparation reflect your long-term goals for the season, especially in the context of the upcoming game against the 49ers?

I mean, we're sitting at 0-4. 1-4 sure looks a lot better than 0-5. Especially, when our division right now has been lackluster to get back to 1-4 keeps us in reach of making something happen. It's a big game for San Francisco too, they're in a very tough division and have started slow. Big game for both squads, we're hoping to come out with a win.

In retrospect, what would you have done differently against the Eagles?

That's easy to say now, compared to when the game itself happened but we should've stuck to what was working. Running the ball, and that opened up the pass from us. We slowed down on pressure to the quarterback and gave him time, we can't do that. Got to stick what's working.

Were there any standout performances or key moments in the game against the Eagles?

Despite the lob sided score, our wide receiver core alongside Austin Ekler. They all got there own yards, made the big plays happen and really gave us a fighting chance from the kickoff. So shoutout to those guys, especially Austin who came in here on short notice when Trey'veon went down.
