Did you scout Henry Parrish Jr. before the draft? If so, what stood out about him?
No, but only because we had limited draft picks and were happy with the running backs we had on the roster. Parrish is a good player we will have to contain, he fits well in that Carolina offense even if they reached on him in the draft.
Can you speak to the overall team health?
Hopefully, I don't jinx it but we have some of the best trainers in the league. We've had some unfortunate injury luck in the playoffs, but the last two regular seasons we've been one of the healthiest teams and it starts with the trainers and nutrionists. Our goal is to never have too many starters with multi-week injuries.
Are there any specific players on the Panthers that you’ve focused on during your preparations?
Xavier Legette and Bru McCoy come to mind. Versatile, talented wideouts that the Panthers were so confident in that they traded Jonathan Mingo and let Terrace Marshall walk so they could be the starters. They bring a combo of size and speed and strength and must be contained. We trust our defensive backs, but the defense must step up and return to last season's level of play.
In retrospect, what would you have done differently against the Seahawks?
Played some defense, Bo Nix had his way and we were playing catch up all game. To go from shutting out the Seahawks last season and forcing countless turnovers to get so thoroughly dominated this season on that side of the ball. Defensive staff was up all night trying to figure out what went wrong.
