What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?
The defense forced 5 turnovers which really propelled us, especially after the disastrous start. Those takeaways set us up with better field position, calmed the offense down, and got our whole team in rhythm. We needed that. A game where the defense kickstarted us is very big for how the season had been going.
Are you seeing the speed of the game starting to slow down for some of the rookies?
We really only have 3 rookies seeing playing time right now. Maalik Murphy who has been a capable starter from the beginning despite some rookie mistakes. Cole Hutson on the offensive line who also has made some rookie mistakes but has been capable from the beginning. Yamarus Banks, though, is our starting free safety and he still needs to get in control and have the game slow down a bit. He has been consistently one step too late so we're excited for when he's able to get that step earlier, but it hasn't happened yet.
How do you see the competition level in the NFC South currently?
It's a battle, every game is tough in this division. The Falcons are the biggest threat as they've built such a good roster and have been producing on the field. Micah Parsons is there now. We're looking forward to a get back game against them next week.
