Transcript: Patriots Head Coach Press Conference

What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?

Pass protection was a huge key. When our line protects well and we are able to get the ball to our playmakers we are tough to stop.

I want to ask you about the receiver position in general. How have you seen that position evolve in importance over the years and how does having a player like WR Tyquan Thornton sort of factor into that perspective?

We like to have wide receivers that can do it all, Thornton has developed in to someone who can win at all levels and get extra yards after the catch as well.

Your team is one of the oldest teams in the league in terms of average age. How do you feel about the future of this team while not having as many young players as other teams? Do you think having an older team has its benefits?

Many of our key players are young and on multi-year contracts. Our oldest pieces are on one year contracts. They are still valuable pieces of our team, but nothing unexpected should come up with our core.

Can you speak to the overall team health?

We have had some key injuries this season, but overall we have been relatively healthy. Our health has been a big part of the early season success.
