Transcript: Seahawks Head Coach Press Conference

The team is on quite a win streak currently, can you explain the preparation the team has gone through this season so far in order to achieve this amount of success?

After missing the playoffs in season 2, our coaching staff spent a good portion of the offseason cleaning up inconsistencies in our game. We wanted our offense to be both methodical and deadly, without relying on the big play as we have in the past. While we still don't feel we've reached max efficiency, we're very, very happy with where we currently sit heading into our bye week. While our defense hasn't necessarily been lockdown, they've made great plays when we've needed them to get the offense the ball back or score points themselves. There's a lot of football left to be played and we refuse to allow ourselves to get comfortable and complacent, we will use our bye week to get healthy (JSN and return man extraordinaire Will Shepherd both have dislocated hips, and are working to get healthy).

What does it mean to you or the team to have such a great winning record at home this season?

It's refreshing for us to perform well at home this year. We typically don't perform as well at home as we do on the road, so it's been a godsend for us to actually defend Lumen Field this year. Our success can be contributed to our new approach on offense. We are taking care of the ball much better than we have in the past, and it's led to more success across the board.

Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Cardinals last week?

Coach Que and the Cardinals are always a tough opponent that we love playing. We know that every time we matchup, we're going to be tested for full four quarters. It took the offense a couple drives to get rolling, but once we did, we clicked for a good portion of the game. It was also reassuring to know that we were able to step up defensively when we needed to. Big plays from Devin Bush and Tariq Woolen made all the difference, and Bo Nix continued his great play.
