Transcript: Commanders Head Coach Press Conference

Which new player are you most excited about and why?

I mean, this was a huge off season for us in terms of additions and it's hard to pinpoint just 'one' player that excites me the most but it would have to be if I had to pick, Tee Higgins. One of the best wide receivers in the league. We saw last week how impactful he was, despite the loss and in pre-season as well as for the Bengals seasons prior. I don't think it can get better than him, and I believe he can be argued for the best wideout in the game and I'm glad he's on our team.

Which young player do you predict will break out this season?

I'm expecting a big year for our third year player, Trey'veon Henderson. The past two years he has unfortunately been riddled with a variety of different injuries but even along those injuries he was putting up great numbers. This past off-season he spent a lot of time with our medical staff and we did our part, in bolstering the offensive line. I think you can expect to see Trey'veon as one of the more so repeating names in terms of stats and being a leader of those stats for the runningback position.

What was the toughest decision your team had to make this offseason?

Probably moving on from Terry McLaurin. He was one of the longest serving players on the team and practically was always there when you needed him to make a play, we were faced with the duty of making a deal with him and it after long, long discussions. Myself, Mr. Pitt and Mrs. Rihanna alongside Terry decided as a group it would be best to part ways this past off-season. We're looking forward to matching up with him later this year when we take on the Los Angeles Rams, and we're wishing him the best.. Except when he plays us.
