Week 2 Snapshot

This will be a weekly series where I will be looking at the box score and giving a summary/ my thoughts of how I felt each game went if I was able to watch it. This may change as the season goes on and the article progresses but for now this is how it is.

Bills 40 VS Dolphins 13

This was Curt’s first game of the season and it showed by the box score. I didn’t catch this one but Curt is known for just throwing up the ball and letting it fly. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn’t. The not working was what happened in this game. Tua ended the game with 0 touchdowns, 7 interceptions and under 250 yards thrown. This Dolphins team has a lot of speed but if you’re just throwing it up with Tua and the receivers on streaks it’s going to turn into interceptions when the ball deflated half way through the air. Curt will need to adjust and find other ways to get his speedy receivers the ball if he wants to compete with this team.

Saints 18 VS Cowboys 37

I saw some of this game but I am clueless on why Rattler was in the game and when he was in enough to throw 3 interceptions on 7 passing attempts. Was this at the beginning or the end? In reality, he shouldn’t have been in the game at all as Carr had a really great game and either he was hurt or Deebo was trying something different with his quarterbacks. Regardless, it resulted in a big win for the Cowboys who look to repeat the season 1 they had last cycle.

Buccaneers 49 VS Lions 59

Baker’s MVP crowning might have been a little premature given his performance in this game. He threw for 5 touchdowns but also threw 5 interceptions.  This playstyle won’t last long if the defense can’t make stops. You can’t count on scoring 72 points every game so the Bucs will need to find some defense this season. The Lions seemed to knock off the rust from week 1 and are showing that they will be a contender for the DIvision.

Colts 38 VS Packers 28

Will the real Wimmy please stand up? I know this is only his second game of Madden 25 but he’s now lost to two coaches who were on the bottom tier last season. Things can change from cycle to cycle but I have to ask, how long will the rust last?  The Colts played perfectly and Richarson looked like the player the Colts management dreamed of with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions thrown.

Jets 48 VS Titans 38

Miles…..What can I say but just stop throwing the ball all the time. Miles is his own worst enemy as he had a good lead in this game only to throw a bunch of unnecessary interceptions which let the Jets come back and eventually win the game. Levis is leading the league in interceptions and it’s a shame because this could have been a great bounce back game. What’s the over/under on Levis interceptions thrown this season?

49ers 20 VS Vikings 34

Brock Purdy might be the death of this time. 6 interceptions thrown in this game was the key difference. What is shocking is that Mccaffrey who is the niners best player on had 14 touches rushing/receiving. This offense should go through him and not Purdy. Silent has the defense to still be in the game after all the turnovers but against good users, that will be the key to wins and losses.  The Vikings are off to a hot start even with Darnold as their quarterback, but will he be the answer this season?

Seahawks 27 VS Patriots 14

I am assuming that Geno got hurt  as it was the Sam Howell show for most of the game. This didn’t make a difference as Howell played extremely well throwing 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. The Pats did well in week one but if their opponent isn’t making mistakes, it’s going to be very hard for them to string wins together with this roster.

Giants 34 Vs Commanders 42

Daniel Jones is trash, however, the Giants defense played well enough to keep them in this game. The Commanders were up two touchdowns before the half, however, Jones was able to throw two deep touchdowns off of an amazing interception where a Giant defender picked the ball off while he was laying on the ground. You have to like the fact that even with all of the interceptions, the Giants were in this game, but how long can this last? Can Daniel Jones stop the turnovers and  string wins together especially now that the defense can’t bail him out with Dexter Lawrence hurt for 5 weeks? Commanders had a nice bounce back game, however, Daniels is flirting with disaster with all the interceptions.

Chargers 57 VS Panthers 37

This game was much closer in the first matchup that was desynced or disconnected in overtime I believe. The Panthers used three different quarterbacks in this game and scored touchdowns with them all. The CHargers just used Herbet and got the same result. The difference and the reason for the multiple quarterbacks was Bryce Youngs interceptions which he threw 3 of. Despite this, the Panthers had a great rushing and passing attack. It was the defense that really let them down.

Browns 30 Vs Jags 14

HD gets his first win of the season versus the CPU. I still wish he would have won week 1 though.

Raiders 17 VS Ravens 38

Benny showed the league that his first game wasn’t a one hit wonder. The AFC West has been deemed the “Superbowl” division and Benny should be 2-0 versus them. Both teams threw 4 interceptions, however, the Ravens have the much better squad and were able to run the ball and score that way. Codes is going to have to weather the storm at quarterback unless he can find someone when trades open up.

Rams 17 VS Cardinals 24

I watched the ending of this game and it was a great one. The Rams got what they wanted and were 10 yards within the goal line with time enough to complete four plays. Unfortunately, the right play couldn’t be found and the ending result was an interception on a slant route in the endzone. Ironically enough, on the right side, that slant looked open and could have tied the game. Staffords interceptions cost them the game at the end and Murray’s ability to not run and not turn the ball over won them the game.

Steelers 30 Vs Broncos 59

The buzz in Pittsburgh has officially worn off. Some will say his win was because he played Arod and some will say it was just him playing a good game but what is true is that game plan did not translate into this one. The Broncos who suffered a loss in week one were coming for blood and they got it by intercepting Fields 7 times. Nix is showing that even though he turns the ball over he can sling it just as good as any. If the Broncos defense can cause the turnovers and Nix can keep scoring touchdowns that week 1 loss will be in the rearview mirror for the rest of the season.

Bengels 15 VS Chiefs 52

Vet hasn’t played in the league since the beginning of the cycle last season and he didn’t play well then and it looks like the same is happening now. He was given one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the league with abilities designed to hit the receiver with no pressure and pinpoint accuracy. Somehow even with these Burrows interceptions are still high per game. He threw 4 here and if this keeps up he will be a normal dev by season’s end. THis was a great bounce back game for Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Bears 45 VS Texans 24

Caleb Williams is on a hot start this season and is looking to show the league that he is the Rookie of the Year. When a rookie outplays the defending Rookie of the year, you know that he is special. This was another great performance by the Bears as they are showing that they are a favorite in the NFC. Stroud and the Texans will get back  to basics and still have a good shot at winning their division.

Falcons 29 VS Eagles 38

Both teams came out throwing picks in the first half, however, even with this, I started out strong  getting a 24-7 lead near the half. Near halftime, Becton, Johnson, and Mailata all got hurt for the game which changed some things up. I went for a more conservative approach knowing I didn’t have long to throw. Arod was able to cut the game within 6 after I missed an easy field goal, however, he gave it right back to me, throwing a pick 6 to Rodgers in the flat when he had a wide open streak. It was a good game.
