Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Emari Demercado?
Well we were never preparing for Emari Demercado, he's a good back but we were much more focused on the rookie, Trey Benson. He's a talented running back who has size, speed, and receiving ability. Demercado had his chance last cycle for the Cardinals, this time it's a young RB with a better base of attributes while being younger and faster.
What can you attribute to having one of the top-scoring teams in the league to this point?
Besides this past game versus the Broncos it's been as simple as one first down after the other. Move the ball, score points, protect the ball. When we do that, when anyone does that, they are unstoppable. But, it's extremely difficult to stay out of your own way and stay dynamic.
Over your career, what makes a team better at not turning the ball over as the season goes along? What kind of things you need to emphasize? How much of it is coaching? How much of it is a mental part? Physical part?
The team adapts its scheme while also bringing it closer and closer to perfection. That eliminates a lot of interceptions and potential strip sacks as when the offense is in rhythm and executing, every player is able to do their role in protecting the football. We also place a heavy emphasis on not loosing the ball as a ball carrier and that improves because each time we fumble, we talk and emphasize it that much more.
