Transcript: Chargers Head Coach Press Conference

What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?

We ran the ball effectively no matter who was carrying it, we stayed ahead of the chains, we cashed in on 3rd downs and in the redzone. It was really good football on Offense besides the couple of turnovers Justin has to clean up. We're working on if the problem on those plays was timing, communication, play design. We want to be perfect. Our defense did a great job of disguising coverage, even if it did get us in trouble on that AT Perry bomb. Luckily he dropped it, and we we adjusted to never be too out of position. Teair Tart had 4 tackles for loss which was huge in stopping them on multiple drives. Turnovers are great but this isn't real life, there's something that feels really good about forcing a punt.

Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Cardinals last week?

No.

Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Chris Olave?

As someone who had the pleasure of turning Chris Olave into a 95 overall X-Factor, he's dangerous and he gashed us for a huge touchdown and over 100 yards. We did keep him away from the ball a good amount, but he only needs so few touches to do something amazing.

What is the status of K'Lavon Chaisson and when is he set to return?

He suffered a second consecutive practice injury and missed two games this time, we really want to see him on the field next week. Didn't release Bud Dupree and sign him for nothing.

The trade deadline is this week. Should we expect any major moves for the team?

Nothing major but we have four guys on the trade block and we'd really like to give one or more of them an opportunity to succeed elsewhere. Josh Palmer is the only player that's garnered interest but the league office is up our arses like they didn't see stephon gilmore get traded for a 5th that one time.
