Did you scout Joe Alt before the draft? If so, what stood out about him?
We did a lot of scouting on Joe Alt before opting to go with JC Latham. I think both of them are 1A and 1B in terms of talent and there wasn't a wrong choice with either choice. Both of them will develop and grow into being two of the best tackles in the league, for a long time to come. The reason we went with JC over Joe was due to the reason JC had more of a personality and seemed like a better culture fit ofr the team.
How do you see the competition level in the AFC South currently?
It's a tight division, where all four teams are under-performing. We're bottom of the division with two wins but two games behind being top of the division. It's something we need to fix, the whole division is going through a bumpy period so it's poor play all around with potential for a great and highly contested division. The winner will be determined by who cleans up their game first through this year.
Can you describe kind of the energy or the mood and the vibe in the building now coming in the home stretch?
We're keeping our heads up because we're still alive. Typically, when you're a two win team with a quarter of the season left to play, you get rid for the draft but we're still in contention for the division and we're telling ourselves that every week as we try to improve and win the division. We have a lot of divisional games left, we need to win those. Other then that, we need to take it one game at a time.
