Week 11 Snapshot

Week 11 Snapshot

This will be a weekly series where I will be looking at the box score and giving a summary/ my thoughts of how I felt each game went if I was able to watch it. This may change as the season goes on and the article progresses but for now this is how it is.

Commanders 35 VS Eagles 40

I came into this game knowing that the Commanders were going to score touchdowns and put up points, however, I felt like I could try to get some of those interceptions that he is throwing as well. This worked out in my favor as Daniels threw some interceptions early and I got a good lead where I could just attempt to play prevent defense and a basic offense. This worked for the most part until Que took what I was giving him and came back into the game  and nearly won at the end. Hurts didn’t put up huge numbers but he did have 2 rushing and 1 throwing touchdown. His 40 yard touchdown run was a thing of beauty and something I need to start incorporating more into the offense. This was a big win as going down 0-3 in the division would have put me in a big hole.

Packers 35 VS Bears 39

Caleb Williams returns to form in this one. The Bear have been having a tough time lately, however, they got a big win over a division rival in this one. Williams carved up one of the best defenses in the game. He threw for 4 touchdowns, 446 yards, and only 1 interception. The Packers offense tried to keep up but they fell short in the turnover battle. Love was intercepted 3 times which cost them the game in my book. Both of these teams need all of their wins as the NFC Wildcard will need a minimum of 10 wins to get in.

Jaguars 21 VS Lions 32

I didn’t get a chance to see this game but it  was a lot closer than I anticipated.  Even without Williams, the Lions offense has many receivers who can catch the ball deep. In this one it was Patrick who even at 88 speed can catch 56 yard passes. Lawrence and the Jags didn’t play badly, however, they didn’t play particularly great either. When you have 137 passing yards and 110 rushing yards you aren’t going to generally win the game unless your defense comes to play. THat didn’t happen here and the Lions continued their dominance while the Jaguars are looking like their early momentum and success is gone and the division with it.

Vikings 41 VS Titans 14

The Titans just don’t have the abilities to keep up with the major powerhouse guys in the NFC. It’s a great thing that the rest of the AFC South has the same skill level because if they didn’t then it would be a long cycle for the Titans. Levis was the only quarterback to play in this one and he didn’t play great. He seems to be playing just like he did at the start of the season as he threw 7 interceptions in this one. Tannehill on the other hand carved up the Titans to the tune of 4 touchdowns and 333 yards passing. The Vikings are the top of the NFC at the moment and getting statement wins like this will keep them that way.

Raiders 31 VS Dolphins 17

Duggan VS Thompson are not the quarterbacks that would have come to mind when this game was scheduled in the offseason. Curt is prone to interceptions which is a big part of the Dolphins failures this season, however, that wasn’t the case in this one. Thompson played decently in this one throwing for 264 yards, 2 touchdowns, and  1 interception. This is actually a statline that could have won them the game if the defense played well. The Raiders run game scored most of their touchdowns as they made the most of their attempts in opposing territory. The Dolphins on the other hand missed 2 field goals which technically if those were fourth down attempts that were made could have been a different story in this one.

Rams 26 VS Patriots 32

The Patriots are the talk of the town at the moment. These two have a history as NEF has explained that he feels Fallens gameplay isn’t sim, however, he was able to overcome this and win the game. I caught the end of this one and Fallen only had himself to blame. He was driving down the field, however, NEF must have known what was coming because he set up a perfect defense for the quick outside throw and intercepted the ball for the game. If Fallen waited then he would have had the guy wide open. This was a big win for the Patriots as it keeps them alive in the AFC playoff race while the Rams continue to fall deeper and deeper to the bottom of the NFC.

Browns 27 VS Saints 32

So close yet so far. HD  has a hard time beating anyone that isn’t in the AFC North or the computer. He can come close in most of these games but he can’t seem to seal the deal. He has all the tools anyone would need to compete, just can’t get over the hump. The switch to DTR is helping the turnover issue as DTR threw another 3 interceptions in this one, but he did add 3 touchdowns and almost 250 yards. The biggest issue for HD and his Browns seems to be the lack of defense. They can’t stop anyone and that’s a huge surprise for a team that has not one but two edge threat pass rushers. It’s looking like these losses aren’t going to matter considering the way the other teams lose more than the Browns do. This was a great win for the Saints who after starting off slow have picked up the pace to be right in the thick of the wildcard race.

Ravens 56 VS Steelers 28

It seems everyone is beating down on the Steelers and this week it was the Ravens. Lamar Jackson might have had his best game as a Raven as he threw for 6 touchdowns, 317 yards, and 0 interceptions. THe Ravens as a team threw for 8 touchdowns total. This isn’t a great look for one of the best defenses in the league on paper. Fields didn’t throw as many interceptions as he usually does, this time only 3, however, it didn’t matter all that much because of the way the defense played. If you can’t stop the offense then unless you’re going score for score then you’re going to lose. Something has to change with this Steeler team, but the good news is they are in the perfect division to make a potential late season comeback.

Falcons 21 VS Broncos 18

The Broncos computer finally takes a loss. Arod did a great job in this one coming up with a good game plan to take down the computer. The fact that they are in the playoff race should be a shame to everyone in the AFC.

Seahawks 42 VS 49ers 21

The 49ers have not been the threat that we were expecting them to be this season. Silent played well enough with the Bengals and showed that he could compete. He was set up with a great team that had all the pieces with a quarterback who was good enough to win. That backfired this season and it has resulted in a bottom dwelling team who is on pace to lose their superstar quarterbacks abilities. This game was the perfect opportunity for them to show they are a force in the division but they failed and it will most likely result in the Seahawks winning the division.

Chiefs 32 VS Bills 13

This could be the AFC championship match up at the end of the season. Both teams have been on a roll and both quarterbacks have been playing lights out. This game was expected to be a lot closer than it was and sadly to say but it shows who is truly the class of the AFC at the moment. Allen has played fantastic all season, however, he didn’t play as well in this one. I am not sure if he was benched or got hurt by at some point Mitch Trubisky came in and threw 4 passes which 2 were completed to his team and 2 to the other. This statline is all you need to know about the game to see how bad it was for the Bills and how good it was for the Chiefs.

Bengals 17 VS Chargers 38

Right below the Chiefs are the Chargers and it’s looking like they are going to be the ones who can potentially stop them from reigning supreme in the AFC. This game was not close and I can’t fault the Bengals here. This was just a game that had two different tier coaches and the result was expected. Herbert was almost perfect while Burrow did Burrow things and cost the team with his turnovers. It will be interesting to see how the Bengals handle a star development Burrow next season. Will they be okay with this or will they take a top quarterback in the draft and have one of the most over paid backup quarterbacks in the league.

Colts 35 VS Jets 27

It’s official, the Colts are the team to beat in the AFC South. They are in the front to win the division at the moment and it’s hard to see them losing this lead if they keep this level of play up. Richardson looked shaky to start the season but he has settled down recently and has put up some impressive numbers. He threw for 235 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception in this one. He leads his team on his back and looks to not only keep his development trait, but potentially go up a tier. As for the Jets, the move to Watson isnt working out and now they have two high cap hits at quarterback. It will be interesting to see if they keep Watson or cut him at some point and draft their guy.

Texans 34 VS Cowboys 31

This was the upset of the week and one that lost me content points. I thought for sure that Drama was a lock in this one especially since he claimed that he wasn’t going to lose another game for the rest of the season. This statement might have been wrong in more ways than one. Not only did he lose this game, but added 4 more interceptions to Daks total for the year which puts him near the range that he will lose his development trait. Dak is a good quarterback, however with his age and regression, that superstar trait is needed in order to justify what he is being paid. Stroud tossed up another 2 interceptions, however, with the defense playing well it didn’t matter in the end. This was a big win to keep the Texans in the AFC South race while it was a huge loss for the Cowboys that can affect their place in the NFC East race.
