The PML Steelers took an unfortunate loss versus the Rams but, there was a lot to build on. Justin Fields looked CRISP. He got a big first down using his legs on a critical third down. He threw for 4 TDs no INT and about 300 yards. After the ABYSMAL last season, its good to see him ripping the ball with no regrets AND NOT THROWING INTS (He had 58 last season. Holy s*** he was so bad). The talk of tonight has to include QUINTIN COOLEY. YOU WILL KNOW HIS NAME. Cooley had a cool, 170 rushing yards, on 15 attempts, 2 rush TD, 5 rec, 58 rec yards, 1 rec TD, and a tackle on kickoff. Pittsburgh loves the do-it-all RB recently. Look at Leveon Bell and Najee to name a couple. Both guys who could run and catch the ball. If you didn’t know, Cooley is a 5-foot 7-inch, 220 lb. undrafted RB out of Liberty. Najee better watch out. If Cooley can keep this up he might take the job from Najee. Speaking of rookies, WR Ayomanor had his first career TD and did so torching Tre White. He had 91 yards on 4 receptions and looked like a solid #3 behind Burden (if he doesn’t go to prison for his speeding fiasco). Ayomanor really stepped up when the team needed him most. He definitely needs better route running though, couple times he had to make tough grabs in traffic when a better route would make it easier on himself. Rookie CB Igbinosun had a great first game. 1 clutch INT at the end of the first half in the Endzone when the Rams were looking to take a 2 TD lead. He also knocked out a deep ball when one-on-one with Puka. The biggest concern at this point is the defense letting up 49 points. I’m not worried YET but, Watt needs to get this defense on the same page. p
pOverall, a great performance by a number of rookies that hopefully can keep making plays all season. PITTSBURGH STEELAS GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL! JK. The roster isn’t quite there yet but a much better showing already than what we got all last season. New HC new problems though. PRAY FOR A W IN WEEK 2! OF out!p
