Eagles Rookie Update

A third of the season has come and gone and the Eagles had one of the better overall draft classes in terms of the number of hits picked compared to the number of picks they had. We are going to look over each of the rookies’ current statistics and see how  they are doing this season.

Round 1-Pick 26: TE Coltson Loveland 76 OVR

Colston Loveland3057119.05671894118

Loveland has had a fantastic rookie season and has been one of our most productive rookies. He has started most games this season and leads the team in receptions, yards, touchdowns, and drops. His 4 drops account for the most on the team which is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. He has come up clutch in a lot of situations, but in week 6 he accounted for 3 drops, including the game losing drop on 4th down. He had the ball in his hands and let a falling defender force him to drop it. His catching will be worked on and hopefully that will address this issue. Despite the negatives, he has been every bit of the starter Coach Burn envisioned when picking him with a first round pick.

Round 2-Pick 26: HB Nicholas Singleton 74 OVR

Saquon Barkley362025.602011066221
Nicholas Singleton251767.023711848030

Singleton was put into the starting role in week 5 when Barkley went down for 6 weeks with a broken collarbone. His numbers here are just in two games and we can see that he is doing better than Barkley in some categories. His yard per carry, broken tackles, touchdowns scored, and fumbles lost are all better. The fumbles lost category is important because he is not losing us games by putting the ball on the ground like Barkley. Barkley will still be out for three more games but if this production continues, he isn’t guaranteed to come back as the starter.

Round 3-Pick 14: MLB Deontae Lawson 75 OVR

He has been hurt for 4 weeks and only has a half sack and 2 tackles this season. He has been getting attribute requests to increase his block shedding and power moves and will be taking over for Sweat with his injury. Lawson will be looking to come back and dominate for the rest of the season.

Round 3-Pick 17: C Jonah Monheim 71 OVR

He hasn’t played this season, but his 90 impact and 90 lead blocking makes him one of the better backups in the league. He is getting attribute requests for pass blocking put in and will get the start next season.

Round 3-Pick 26: ROLB Nick Jackson 73 OVR

Jackson, like Lawson, got hurt for 4 weeks but he doesn’t have any recorded statistics. He most likely won’t for the season unless something really dire happens with injuries.

Round 4-Pick 6: LG Dylan Fairchild 71 OVR

Like Monheim, he hasn’t played this season but will be getting work put into him and will be starting next season.

Round 4-Pick 26: LOLB David Bailey 73 OVR

He has two tackles on the season but hasn’t played a major part in the defense. He has the ability to come in as a stop gap at the moment when someone gets injured and he has done what is asked of him.

Round 6-Pick 9: QB DJ Uiagalelei 67 OVR

He had  a great preseason and was listed as the third quarterback on the roster. Due to injuries with the rest of the roster, he was forced to the practice squad where he will stay. In hindsight this was a mistake as he should be the backup quarterback and we lost his 4 year contract by putting him on the practice squad.
