The Eagles had one of the better overall draft classes in terms of the number of hits picked compared to the number of picks they had. We are going to look over each of the rookies’ final statistics and see how they are doing compared to earlier this season. We will also look to see if any moved up or got a development trait.
Round 1-Pick 26: TE Coltson Loveland: 76 -> 83 -> 85 OVR Superstar
Player | Recs | Yds | Avg | TD | Lng | YAC | Dps | Fantasy |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Colston Loveland | 74 | 1320 | 17.8 | 14 | 67 | 470 | 8 | 293 |
Loveland had one of the best rookie tight end seasons in Philly history and proved that he wasn’t a reach pick. He was determined to prove his role in the offense and he dominated. He became our top weapon and was rewarded with a superstar development upgrade as a reward. He was blessed enough to keep his development trait after the death drop as well.
Round 2-Pick 26: HB Nicholas Singleton: 74 -> 80 -> 85 OVR
Player | Att | Yds | Avg | TD | Lng | 20+ | BKT | YAC | Fum | Fantasy |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Nicholas Singleton | 214 | 1029 | 4.5 | 15 | 51 | 5 | 43 | 297 | (0) 1 | 356 |
Singleton started the season in week 4 and never lost is starting spot. In hindsight he should have started over Barkley but in preseason didn’t show enough to warrant that. He had a fantastic rookie season, accumulating over 1700 all purpose yards and 20 overall touchdowns. He was up there in the race for NFC rookie of the year but couldn’t overtake Sampson. If he had those extra 4 games, it could have been completely different. He will get a fresh start next season and look to overtake the league in his quest for superstar status.
Round 3-Pick 14: ROLB Deontae Lawson 75 -> 78
Lawson got hurt during the season so his progression was halted this season. That didn’t stop him from being one of the best pass rushers on our team, racking up 9 sacks. Unfortunately, he was one sack away from gaining 10,000 XP which would have brought him to at least an 80 overall. He will be used heavily this season.
Round 3-Pick 17: C Jonah Monheim 71 -> 75 OVR
He has been brought up to a decent starting lineman and with all of our older ones going to free agency, he will start for us next season.
Round 3-Pick 26: ROLB Nick Jackson 73 -> 76 OVR
He was used as a backup, however, he has become someone that can take over in a pinch. With Dean leaving, he will be used more this season.
Round 4-Pick 6: LG Dylan Fairchild 71 -> 75 OVR
He was able to get to a 75 overall and will be great to use as a backup. We had alot of lineman get hurt this past season so having great young backups will help us next season.
Round 4-Pick 24: RE Dani Dennis-Sutton 73 -> 76 OVR
Sutton didn’t have the most playing time due to Nolan Smith and Lawson taking over but he is a guy who has everything that you need to rush the passer. He is a great guy who can come in at any point and the defense shouldn’t miss a beat.
Round 4-Pick 26: LOLB David Bailey 73 -> 74
He became the ragtag guy of the group. He didn’t play and was focused on at all with attribute requests. He could be a good players but we just had to many mouths to feed this season. He could be on the block if someone needs a young linebacker.
Round 6-Pick 9: QB DJ Uiagalelei 67 OVR
DJ only played in preseason and while his 95 thp is fantastic, he has a tendency to miss easy throws. Hes proven he isn’t a reliable backup and will be regulated to third string.
This draft class produced three legit starters with three more potential starters for this upcoming season. It was one of the best draft classes in the league and will be a key core for the cycle.
