Can you talk about the development of Noah Fifita so far?
The first game for him showed some signs of struggle, it is a preseason game so I'm not too worried with some of his mistakes but he made plays and ultimately made the team comeback and win so I have high hopes for him to continue that when he gets the time to shine. I'm not decided yet if I want to keep Prescott as the starter for the season or if I'm going to let the rookie shine first, it is something we're going to see from these preseason games.
What is the status of Michael Pierce and when is he set to return?
It sucks to see him get injured in his first game of the preseason for us, the injury is going to take him out for a month so he isn't going to start for us in the regular season until week 2. I think we shouldn't need him too much in our first game and we know he was going to start for us in the regular season so it is kinda like how we are sitting some of our other starters in the game to make sure they are regular season ready.
Did you scout BYE before the draft? If so, what stood out about him?
I had scouted Noah before the draft and he was the QB that I wanted to take the most out of all the players in the draft, I knew we didn't have a first and so he was someone that I knew would be great for our team and he was someone that wasn't going to get picked before it was our turn. I'm glad we were able to get him in the building because he has the makings of being our new franchise QB.
Can you speak to the overall team health?
It's not the greatest so far, we have 3 injuries already that are going to be out until week 2, Isaac Geurendo and Michael Pierce are huge blows to our team since Michael was going to be a starter on the defensive line for us and Isaac was going to be someone we were going to use in tandem with Christian Mccaffrey. Thankfully, these injuries aren't too much and we'll be able to get them back soon but you never want to see injuries no matter who it is.
