End of Preseason, who’s starting.

pWith the final game of preseason being done, it is now time for the new look 49ers to be able to get their roster situated for the season to come. There was some position battles to be made for the team that are now resolved and we are going to be seeing some of the rookies finally get their first career starts.

Last season, the Niners had Brock Purdy at the helm who was in a contract year and with a new coach entering the building, it was hard for him to see keeping Purdy who was asking for a huge payday despite his numerous injuries that had limited his stardom for the team. With Purdy gone, the team looked at Dak Prescott as a QB that they were going to target in free agency and then in the draft with their second round pick, the team also took Arizona QB Noah Fifita.

The 2 QBs had fought in preseason and Coach Frozen saw that Noah had the potential so he is going to be the one starting for the team in week 1 against the Seahawks. They both had some shine with the team but there was also some mistakes made by both and with that, it makes more sense to Coach Frozen to start the rookie with mistakes rather than a vet with mistakes. Dak will not be neglected though because he has the ability to mentor the young rookie and if there are too many mistakes, he knows that he will be sent in to relieve Fifita.

Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and Trent Williams were sat on the offensive side since they are some of the best in their positions and will continue to start for the team this season. On the defensive side, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, and the free agent acquisition Danielle Hunter were guaranteed to start for the team and were sat for most of preseason with how skilled they are for the defense.

The WR room has most of the same guys, the team had to let go of Deebo Samuel because he was getting up there in age but was still demanding a bag to play, we don’t do that here so he was sent to Free Agency. Brandon Aiyuk is WR1 with the second year stud Evan Stewart lining up opposite him. Ricky Pearsall and the rookie Lewis Bond are going to be switched in and out periodically to round out the receiving core for the team.

The offensive line needed improvement with the barren wasteland of talent they had besides Trent. Coach Frozen had made this a priority for the team because it would lead the team to an instant downfall. Dominick Puni was the only player besides Trent still starting. Hjalte Froholdt was signed in the offseason to be the Center for the team. Although DJ Humphries was signed as well, he is going to be sitting behind the young guys to see how they play and will go into wherever the team might need him. The right side of the field is going to be the two rookies that we got in the draft, RG Anez Cooper and the RT Ty’kieast Crawford.

Despite how popular he was, the team had to let George Kittle go, he didn’t want too much but if he was signed, the team would have been extremely depleted in money to make any signings in the offseason to help the team. There is going to be a new starter for the team with Luke Haisz who was the third round pick for the Niners. He is someone the team is optimistic can be a good replacement for George but he did have some catching problems in the preseason games so if he still struggles, the second year TE Eli Stowers will take that spot since he performed well when playing.

On the defensive side, Walter Nolen is still going to be DT1 for the team after his great rookie campaign last season and although he got injured in the preseason, the team is also going to have Michael Pierce start beside him on the interior. Nick Bosa and Danielle Hunter are going to be lining up opposite of those guys to fill out the defensive line.

Fred Warner is going to be the signal caller for the team as he should and the team is going to be having the rookie Brooks Miller play behind in the MLB spot after he won the job over the second year Scooby Williams. The Acquisition of TJ Edwards in the offseason has him going to the LOLB spot for the team as the starter since there wasn’t much depth there. Dee Winters will be lined up opposite of him but if he struggles, the rookie Cody Lindenberg will take his spot since this is the last chance for Dee in starting for the team.

The secondary had such a solid group that there was no need for improvement. The CBs will still be Deommodore Lenoir, Will Johnson, Kader Kohou. They all were studs last season and Coach Frozen doesn’t see the need to change it up and screw up their chemistry. FS is going to be Ji’Ayir Brown for now but if the second year guy Mansoor Delane keeps developing this season, he might take that spot from him. SS will be the stud Talanoa Hufanga still since he has not shown any signs of regression after he bursted onto the scene years ago.

Jake Moody and Mitch Wishnowsky are still going to be the K and P for the team for the entire season. They never struggled and aren’t going to be replaced as a result of it.p
