Coach JacNOff Week 1 Postgame Interview

Alex Carter: “Coach JacNOff, thanks for taking the time after a tough Week 1 loss. Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take away. Let’s start with the offense. Nyck Harbor had an incredible debut with 6 catches, 196 yards, and 4 touchdowns. How impressed were you with his performance?”

Coach JacNOff: “Nyck was phenomenal. To come in as a rookie and put up numbers like that in his first NFL game is almost unheard of. His speed and ability to create separation are truly special, and he showed that he’s not just an athlete—he’s a football player. We’re excited about what’s ahead for him.”

Alex Carter: “Lamar Jackson looked sharp as well—15 of 23 for 321 yards, 4 touchdowns, and an interception. How would you evaluate his performance?”

Coach JacNOff: “Lamar played really well. He spread the ball around, made smart decisions for the most part, and showed great chemistry with the receivers. The interception is something we’ll clean up, but overall, he gave us a chance to win the game, and that’s all we can ask of our quarterback.”

Alex Carter: “Jaydn Ott also had an impressive game, contributing both on the ground and through the air. How valuable is his versatility to this offense?”

Coach JacNOff: “Jaydn is a dual-threat back, and that’s exactly why we drafted him in the 4th round last year. He had 9 carries for 51 yards and added 101 receiving yards and a touchdown. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways makes him a key part of our offense.”

Alex Carter: “Jimmy Horn Jr. had a quieter day but still made a big impact with 2 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. How important is his ability to make explosive plays?”

Coach JacNOff: “Jimmy’s a game-changer. He may not have had a ton of touches, but when the ball comes his way, he makes it count. His speed and playmaking ability add another dimension to our offense.”

Alex Carter: “Switching to the defense, Derek Stingley Jr. had 9 tackles and an interception but struggled against Chris Olave, who finished with 6 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown. What’s your assessment of Stingley’s performance?”

Coach JacNOff: “Derek had a tough assignment. Olave is one of the best in the league, and while he made some plays, Derek also made his presence felt with a big interception and solid tackling. He’s still growing, and I have no doubt he’ll learn from this experience.”

Alex Carter: “Nate Wiggins had a solid outing with 7 tackles and a pass deflection. How would you rate his performance?”

Coach JacNOff: “Nate was steady and consistent, which is what we need from him. He’s a reliable presence in the secondary, and we’re excited to see him continue to build on this performance.”

Alex Carter: “Caleb Bacon looked every bit the part with 7 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. How impressed were you with the rookie?”

Coach JacNOff: “Caleb was fantastic. He’s proving why we were so high on him during the draft. His instincts and physicality were on full display, and he’s already a difference-maker for us.”

Alex Carter: “Roquan Smith came up big with a forced fumble late in the fourth that helped tie the game. What can you say about his leadership and impact?”

Coach JacNOff: “Roquan is the heartbeat of our defense. That forced fumble was a huge moment, and it shows his ability to step up when we need him most. He sets the tone for everyone else.”

Alex Carter: “Flip Dixon had 7 tackles but gave up the game-winning touchdown to Juwan Johnson. What’s your message to him after a tough moment like that?”

Coach JacNOff: “Flip played a solid game overall, and he’s learning every time he steps on the field. The touchdown was a tough play, but it’s part of the learning curve. We’re really pleased with his effort and growth, and we know he’s going to get better from this.”

Alex Carter: “Despite the loss, there are a lot of things to build on. What’s your focus heading into Week 2?”

Coach JacNOff: “We need to clean up the details, especially on defense. The effort was there, but we need to tighten up our execution. Offensively, we’re happy with how we moved the ball, but we have to minimize mistakes. It’s a long season, and I’m confident we’ll bounce back.”

Alex Carter: “Thanks for your time, Coach. Ravens fans will appreciate the insight.”

Coach JacNOff: “Anytime, Alex. Keep up the good work young man.”
