What are your thoughts about the Cowboys going into this week?
I would like to see Dak Prescott have a good game for the team as he returns to face the Cowboys. He has struggled more than what you would like to see when it comes to a veteran QB but I still believe that he can run this offense for the rest of the year while mentoring Noah. I would also like to see our team get back to form, we will have another game with McCaffrey out due to him having some personal issues going on so we are going to still rock with our 3 other backs who have been doing great in their snaps while McCaffrey deals with the issues going on.
Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Chiefs last week?
The Chiefs are a good team and they played better than us. The biggest thing I saw was that Dak Prescott made it harder for the team to succeed. He was not as disciplined in passing and that showed with 4 ints from him, he was underthrowing and overthrowing most of his throws and those were getting picked off as a result. The rushing attack was able to make some movement on offense but the offensive line still struggled a bunch. When Noah got it, the team looked better which is promising to me for the future in his development.
Can you talk about the development of Noah Fifita so far?
I think he is making great progress. He isn't going to be starting anytime soon, but I really see that he has been a huge leader on the team and is always working with the offense and defense to get them better prepared for the week's games. I'm excited to see him shine when he has a more successful line blocking for him since it is hard to see him take hits on almost every dropback.
Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Micah Parsons?
We are going to focus on limiting his ability to make plays, this will be hard for the team though since the offensive line is weak besides Trent Williams so it will be a huge test for the other guys whether they will be able to stop him from making big plays on every snap.
What is the status of Ty'kieast Crawford and when is he set to return?
He is still suffering from his broken ribs but he is set to return to action next week when we have our bye so he should be able to play when we have the rematch against the Seahawks. Ty'kieast has been a huge draft sleeper pick for the team as he has been able to not give up any sacks in all of his time playing for the team this season which has been helpful to Noah and Dak.
The trade deadline is this week. Should we expect any major moves for the team?
No, I was told by the GM that we weren't going to be trading anyone during the season and I agreed with him. This team needs to still work together to get past these setbacks and I don't like to give up on guys that I know can make an impact during the season. Depending on how the season ends, I would be willing to trade players if it would be able to get the team better prepared for the next season. Because of the previous owner of the 49ers not managing the team the greatest, this year is more of a rebuild since we have some great players, but that is it and the rest of the team is lacking in that regard.
Are you seeing the speed of the game starting to slow down for some of the rookies?
Yes, Ty'kieast Crawford has acclimated to the team instantly and has done a wonderful job in blocking opposite of Trent Williams, he stuck to Williams from the start and has been trying to learn whatever he can to improve his skills in the NFL. Luke Haisz is currently leading the team in receiving yards while only being a rookie, he has had some drops but overall has been steadily improving and we already see that he is going to be a great replacement for George Kittle who we lost in the offseason.
Can you speak to the overall team health?
It has been getting better in the past couple of weeks, we would like to get Ty'kieast back sooner but he is on track to play in our next game against the Seahawks which would mean that we will have no one on the injury report unless we get a big injury in this week's game.
What are your thoughts about the Cowboys just in general as a team?
They are a formidable team and with the acquisition of C.J. Stroud, it has only made their offense even more dominant so our team is going to have their hands full as they try to beat them in this matchup.
