With the first game coming off the book for Noah in which he performed well but was unable to get the victory, he would bounce back into action as he faced off with the Giants on the road. The game was close all game long and Noah was able to drive the ball down the field enough for Jake Moody to kick a game winning fg as time expired to end the game 41-38 in New Jersey.
Noah was solid in the game and was really comfortable in the backfield, he would throw for 292 yds with 2 touchdowns to 1 interception on 60% completion percentage. His longest throw in the game was 71 yds to Brandon Aiyuk. Overall, this is what I love to see from my quarterback, a patient and precise passing attack to help the team get the win.
A big help to the passing game was the dominant ground game that the offense had. Christian McCaffrey would lead the charge for the team and rushed for 85 yds on 10 carries and 1 td before he was taken out of the game early with an injury. This didn’t hinder the rushing attack though since Isaac Guerendo would pick up right where he left off and go for 51 yds on 3 carries with 2 tds, one of which being a huge 48 yd td run. Trevor Etienne went for a silent 6-14 in the game.
The receiving attack was spread out on the field as Brandon Aiyuk would lead the charge for the team, going for 143 yds on 7 receptions and 1 td to his name. He was getting open on almost every pass play and he was the reliable target Fifita would need to lead the team to victory. Evan Stewart was great when the ball was in his hands, going for 64 yds and 1 td on 3 receptions. Josh Williams was thrown the ball once and made it go for 39 yds on a huge 3rd down play. Guerendo and Etienne were almost identical in the passing game as they would both catch it twice with 22 and 21 yds respectfully.
The offensive line was able to be stout in the passing and rushing looks given, only giving up 1 sack in the game while allowing the rushing attack to feast on the ground.
Talanoa Hufanga was all over the field tackling the opposition, racking up 9 total tackles and 3 tfls. Nick Bosa was getting them behind the line on almost every play he made, racking up 3 for the team. The rookie Lindenberg has been flourishing nicely behind Warner, getting 2 tfls in the game. TJ Edwards was able to rack up 9 tackles on the edge of the line in the game with a tfl. Michael Pierce and Danielle Hunter would both get 1 tfl each as well for the team.
This game was able to be won from how dominant one player on the defense was. Ji’Ayir Brown was the main star of the show for the defense as he would get 3 different interceptions against the Giants, he was able to make plays all over in the secondary and was able to stop key drives from making any headway for the team.
Jake Moody was perfect in all of his attempts, going 2 for 2 from the field and 5 for 5 in xps, he was able to kick it 50 yds to get the win while iced in the the final seconds of the 4th. His kick made him get carried off the field on the back of all of his teammates.
With the win, the 49ers head to Sofi Stadium to face off against the Rams for their first divisional matchup against the undefeated team, looking to bounce back in division play after starting off 0-1.
