Transcript: Broncos End of Season Press Conference

[Opening Statement]

Good afternoon, everyone. I just want to start off saying that as we head into the final game of the regular season, we know this year hasn’t gone the way we wanted. Sitting at 4-12, we’ve had our struggles, and it’s been a learning experience for everyone in this building. But through adversity, we’ve seen some bright spots, and we’re committed to building a stronger team moving forward.

Reporter 1: Coach, this season started sluggishly and ended with a tough record. What went wrong?

We didn’t execute at a high enough level consistently. There were moments when we showed flashes of the team we can be, but too often, we were playing from behind or making critical mistakes. Lack of execution, mental fortitude and missed opportunities all played a role. It’s on us as a coaching staff to correct that moving forward.

Reporter 2: Despite the record, Elijah Arroyo had a breakout year with 79 receptions, 1,600 yards, and 10 touchdowns. What can you say about his performance?

Elijah has been incredible. Over this past offseason, we had a very thorough meeting, where I introduced the idea of bringing in Evan Engram to balance his workload and add some more firepower. However, with the utmost respect, he politely rejected this idea. He ensured me that he was ready to take the next step in this offense to be an elite weapon, a benchmark which he greatly succeeded. His work ethic, his playmaking ability, and his consistency have been a huge boost to our offense. To put up those numbers in a tough season says a lot about his talent and mindset. He’s going to be a cornerstone for this team moving forward

Reporter 3: On the defensive side, Kevin Winston Jr. emerged as a force with 45 tackles, 8 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. How important has he been?

Junior has been a game-changer. His ability to read plays, make key stops, and generate turnovers has been vital for us. His future is incredibly bright, and he’s only going to get better. The organization has been very pleased with his progress as a player and leader. He’s the type of player you build a defense around.

Reporter 4: What will be done with Marvin Mims Jr. this offseason? Any big plans for him?

Marvin is a special talent. We need to put him in the best position to succeed, whether that means expanding his role or refining certain aspects of his game. He’s part of our long-term vision, and we’re excited about his potential. We intend to work out a deal this offseason when the time is right.

Reporter 5: Despite the rough season, you ended with a dominant win. How does that feel?

It feels great to finish on a high note. We played with energy, executed well, and showed what we’re capable of. Bo put up the best game of the season with 450 yards and five tuddys. That’s the kind of performance we need to carry some momentum into next season.

Reporter 6: You have five picks in the first three rounds, including two first-rounders and a potential top-10 pick. What can fans expect?

I cannot stress enough how vital this offseason is going for this organization. The draft is a huge opportunity for us, we have the chance to bring in impact players who can help us right away. We’re going to be thorough, strategic, and make decisions that will hopefully set us up for success right away.

Reporter 7: What will be upgraded to ensure an over .500 record next season?

Other than our QB and receiving room we need to improve across the board. In the draft we’re ideally looking to boost the front seven, with emphasis on the D-line. However, should a playmaker be on the board during our selection, we will not hesitate to take them. Additionally we are well aware of our offensive-line struggles, a dilemma we’re gonna rely on free agency to mend. We’ll evaluate every position, make the necessary moves in free agency and the draft, and ensure we’re putting a more competitive product on the field next season.

[Closing Statement]

Thank you all for your time. This season was tough, but we’re committed to getting better. We appreciate the support from our fans, and we’ll be working tirelessly to build a team that competes at the highest level. See you next season.
