With the new season starting up, the 49ers were looking to come into this season more competitive as they try to fight for a playoff spot in the NFC. Their first matchup was against the division leaders in the AFC North in the Browns. The game was played twice before it needed to be simmed but the same thing was there in both matchups, the 49ers were playing like a new team with how fluid they were playing on both sides of the field.
The sim stats that came to be after the great games before started with Noah Fifita going 24-33 with 300 yds, 3 tds-0 ints. He was able to get a QBR of 130.8. His performance being almost perfect as he goes into his second season starting for the Niners. He was also able to go for 19 yds on the ground on his 7 rushes.
Trevor Etienne was able to go for 60 yds on 13 attempts, averaging 4.6 YPC. He was also able to make some great strides in the passing attack as he would catch 1 pass for 22 yds. Isaac Guerendo didn’t get the ball much but was able to take it in for a td on the goal line, ending the game with 3 carries for 1 yd with the td, 1 rec for 10 yds.
The receiving attack was mainly focused on two guys, Brandon Aiyuk and Luke Haisz were both able to rack up 8 recs with Aiyuk having 128 yds and a td while Haisz had 88 yds and 2 tds. Evan Stewart was the closest to those studs with 3 recs for 28 yds himself.
The sim would make Chandler Strong and Jager Burton give up their first sacks of the season in the win but overall, the team was able to keep Fifita covered enough for him to sling it with ease.
The defense was hungry in the win as they would pick up 4 sacks against Cam Ward. Walter Nolen was leading the way for the defense with 2 sacks himself, Nick Bosa and Danielle Hunter weren’t far behind as they would record 1 sack each to keep the game out of reach.
With the first win in the books, the 49ers are going to host the Titans in the first home game as they look to continue the win streak they got from week 1.
