What are your thoughts about the Cardinals going into this week?
They're a tough team and our games always result in a bunch of injuries on both sides of the ball so our main goal is to limit the injuries while keeping their offense in check. Our defense will have to play a great game for us to stay competitive in the matchup.
Can you summarize what it was like playing against the Ravens last week?
Our defense won us that game early, they were all over the field and made it so Lamar Jackson was unable to really have any effect in the matchup. Our defense came up with 5 ints and had a couple sacks here and there that made it so our offense didn't have to do too much to get the victory.
Can you talk about the development of Jordan Seaton so far?
He is developing nicely, we have officially put him in at the RT position of Crawford to see how he performs as Crawford has been giving up a lot of sacks this season.
How has Trent Williams’s experience in the league helped the team so far?
Trent has been huge in developing all of our young guys in how to protect our QB best and help create lanes for our RBs. He has been great this season as well since he has been giving up 0 sacks on his side which has helped our QBs find the open receivers more and more.
What is the status of Danielle Hunter and when is he set to return?
He is one of the many guys that we are going to be getting back on our team next week, this is going to be helpful for both sides of the ball as Hunter is dominant on the left side of the field opposite Bosa and we have even more depth on our defensive line so his experience will improve that whole unit.
Are you seeing the speed of the game starting to slow down for some of the rookies?
Yeah, our rookies have been able to find their grove early in the season and it is showing in the stat boards, our defensive line has seen Mason-Thomas and Miller skyrocket in their production each time they are on the field. Our rookies on the offensive line have done a great job at keeping our QBs protected and it has led to our team having a 4-2 record 7 weeks in.
How do you see the competition level in the NFC West currently?
The competition is tough this season, we are currently the 3rd seed in the division as we are all at least standing with 4 wins on the season each, I see our division being the best by the time the playoffs arrive with potentially 2 of our guys getting a wild card spot along with our division leader
The defense is playing really well right now. What do you think are biggest contributing factors to that?
The impact our rookies are having when they get on the field, and our vets making plays all over the field, have been huge in our defense taking a massive step in the right direction after the multitude of problems the team had on defense last season.
The majority of your team is under the age of 26. Is that a conscious effort to have such a young team?
Yeah, our team hasn't had the cap needed to be able to get big time guys in free agency so our focus has been to target guys through the draft that are going to be great for us in their positions. This has been a huge reason why we are getting more success, our team is working together fantastically, the older guys are letting the young guys take the torch while they continue their dominance.
Can you speak to the overall team health?
Our health has been horrible so far this season, we have had Danielle Hunter and Nick Bosa spend most of this season on the injury report, Noah Fifita has gotten this season cut short for a bit as he is currently on our injury report as well. Trent Williams has left some games with an injury, Christian Miller has had to leave a game here and there. Our team needs to get better health if we want to stay competitive in the division and conference.
