Transcript: 49ers Head Coach Press Conference

What were the keys to the team’s victory this week?

The key to this victory was how dominant our team was as a whole. We made a few mistakes but capitalized on all the mistakes the Bengals had made. On offense, our team was able to find our rhythm instantly and control the pace of the game for all four quarters.

Can you talk about the development of Jordan Seaton so far?

He got some huge development in the passing attack following this last game and he has been shining for the team in the RT position so far, he is slotted to stay there for the duration of the season as the team tries to sneak its way into the postseason.

Can you talk about what it’s like to prepare to go against a player like Ja’Marr Chase?

We know he is dominant, but he ain't the whole team, though. Our goal was to make Joe Burrow make mistakes with our pass rush and force him into bad spots. Our plan worked as Ja'Marr was one of the few guys on their offense that did anything while our team dominated in the game.

What is the status of Nick Bosa and when is he set to return?

He is one of 4 guys on our team that are out for a month still, they are all slated to return for us in week 17 which will be huge if we are still trying to fight for the 7th seed.

How do you see the competition level in the NFC West currently?

The competition is still as tough as ever, we were able to get a victory over the Rams to split the series so now we have one game against the Seahawks in a must win if we want any shot at making the playoffs. With how good our division is, our team is looking to match the competitiveness and try and take one of the wild card spots.

Can you describe kind of the energy or the mood and the vibe in the building now coming in the home stretch?

we are competing for the playoffs and all of the players are rallying behind it all. We are playing great football in these last couple of weeks and continuing this trend will allow us to win out.

Is quarterback a priority for this team in the upcoming draft?

We might draft a backup if we don't get a guy in free agency but there is no competition as Noah Fifita is our guy. He has been playing great all season long and there is no need to betray the trust that we have in him by trying to get a guy early.

What are your thoughts about the Bengals just in general as a team?

They are a good team that has a great offense and they were competing with us until the second half of the game. We were able to capitalize on their mistakes and were able to push away from the team.
