Giants Offense Then (2021 & 2023) VS Now (2025)

Coach Burn has been rehired for the third time in 4 cycles by the New York Giants. He has had mixed success with these Giants in the past. His Giants of 2021 and 2023 are different teams then the one he has now. They do have some of the same players as before, however, a lot has changed with this roster. In this article we will take a look at which players are still here, if they are any better than they were, and which players are new at each position. We will start with the offense and finish with the defense in another article.

Quarterback:
Daniel Jones (2021), Daniel Jones (2023), Russel Wilson, Jaxson Dart (2025),
The starter hasn’t been named for the Giants as of yet. Wilson is the better rated quarterback but it will be more valuable for Dart to play unless he gets a sitting scenario. If he gets that scenario then he will sit and WIlson and Winston will be the guys who play. If he doesn’t get the scenario then it is almost guaranteed he will start as his experience goals are too valuable to miss. No matter how you look at it, this is an upgrade with their quarterback.

Runningback:
Saquon Barkley (2021), Saquon Barkley (2023), Tyrone Tracey (2025),
Barkley being a 99 at the moment and not having him is a travesty. The NFL Giants let him go in a dumb decision that would have never been made by Coach Burn. Tracey is a second year player who played well in his rookie year. He isn’t the quickest or fastest guy but his 90 speed and 91 acceleration will be able to get the job done. While Tracey is a solid player, Barkley is a generational talent and will be missed. This is a downgrade.

Wide Receivers:
Kenny Golladay (2021), Parris Campbell (2023), Malik Nabers (2025),
Nabers is the best receiver that has been on this team since Odell. He is the bonafide number one guy and will be the focal point of this offense. While he may not have the most receptions in the league, he will open up the rest of the receivers to make plays. Nabers takes the cake and this is an upgrade.

Darius Slayton (2025),Darius Slayton (2023), Darius Slayton (2021)
Slayton has been the number 2 guy on this team all of these years. He hasn’t proven himself worthy of being a number 1 guy, however, he is perfectly fine being the number 2. He just got paid this offseason and will look to use his speed to take the heat off of Nabers.

Kadarius Toney (2021), Jalin Hyatt (2023), Jalin Hyatt (2025)
Hyatt still has his speed, but that is about it. He hasn’t done much for the NFL Giants but he is a perfect guy to build up in madden. He will be built to be the third guy on the team and look to take over for Slayton when the time comes.

John Ross (2021), Wandale Robinson (2023), Wandale Robinson
It’s a theme here for the lower end receivers on the team. None of them could solidify themselves as the go to guy even though they have been on the team for years. Robinson has done some good things but his height has regulated him to being the slot receiver and that’s about it.

Tight End:
Evan Engram (2021), Darren Waller (2023), Theo Johnson
Johnson isn’t a high overall guy, however, at 6’6, with 87 speed and 90 jumping he is a great starting tight end to build for the cycle. He didn’t have the best rookie season, but Coach Burn will make the most of him this season so he turns into a star. If we’re looking at madden attributes, this will be a starting downgrade.

Offensive Line:
LT: Andrew Thomas (2021), Andrew Thomas(2023), Andrew Thomas (2025)
LG: Kyle Long (2021), Joshua Ezeudu (2023), Jon Runyan (2025)
C: Nick Gates (2021), John Michael Schmitz (2023), John Michael Schmitz (2023)
RG: Will Hernandez (2021), Mark Glowinski (2023), Greg Van Roten (2025)
RT: Nate Solder (2021), Evan Neal (2023), Jermaine Eluemunor (2025)

The offensive line has a few new faces and some old ones. Thomas has been the best lineman on the team and is a top tier tackle in the league. His issue is the fact that he can’t stay healthy. Schmitz is still the center but that spot will be moved and taken over by another player. He has regressed hard since he was drafted and is a severe liability on the line. The rest of the guys are average and will be expected to hold their own for the season. The line overall is one of the best they have had in years and that is saying something considering this is an average oline.

The Giants overall are a worse rated offense than years past, however, they have some nice pieces on offense with Nabers and Thomas. Coach Burn will use his development skills to turn this offense into a highly rated one but mid cycle or sooner.
