PML Exclusive: Meet New Bengals Coach dTown

For weeks, the league has been buzzing about the vacant Bengals spot. The CPU Bengals have been a problem — stubborn, scrappy, and still managed to snag three wins on their own. But now, the wait is over. We finally have a user in control of Cincinnati, and the hype is real.

Stepping in is dTown, who already made noise in his trial game versus HD, showing he belongs. The Bengals finally have a coach to bring direction, energy, and competition to one of the toughest divisions in PML.

Let’s get to know the man behind the sticks.

Q1: Where are you from, and how long have you been playing Madden?

A: I’m from Detroit, MI. I’ve been playing Madden since I was 6 — Madden ‘99 — my brothers used to beat my a** lol. Competitively I’ve been playing for the last 9 years.

Q2: What was your first reaction when you saw the Bengals roster? Do you think you can salvage this first season?

A: Offense, offense, offense lol. We’re going to put up some points. The defense has some pieces that we’ll have to develop and use to get stops. Plus, we gotta figure out that cap situation, because I know it’s not looking good in Cincy. I can compete with it because of the offense — as long as I don’t turnover myself out of games, I’ll be able to compete for a playoff run.

Q3: What do you hope to accomplish in your first cycle in PML?

A: First cycle, I want to make a name — like, “alright, DTown ain’t no easy out.” The goal is playoffs, then asking, can he win the d*** thing though? I want to come have some fun, get some dubs, and d*** it, we play the game to win — so hopefully get a bowl. I’m looking for quick success, because this team is built for some runs now.

Q4: What are some holes or changes you’d like to address with this roster?

A: I don’t think they really have holes, they just need to be developed. The O-line is the main focus, and second would be the DB room. Trade-wise, if we can bring in some beef up front at DT and a linebacker, I’d love that. But we’re going to play the season out with what we’ve got, then go into offseason 1 with a roster management plan.

Q5: You’re in one of the toughest divisions in PML. Do you think you can compete?

A: Two things can be true: I’m in a tough division, and if I can bang in that division and get this record together to make the playoffs, I’ll make a name for myself. It’s a tough uphill battle, but mama ain’t raise no hoe. We’re tightening the chin strap, rolling the sleeves up, and getting to it.

Q6: Finally, what should the league know about you as a coach?

A: I’m gonna compete for sure. I’ll take my Ls when they come, but best believe it’s gonna be some get back. You might knock us down, but we’re getting up — and on the way up, we’re gonna bite a kneecap or two.
