Desmond Ridder got an extension? Lol

Look, I get it. Everybody loves a comeback story. Desmond Ridder was a legend at Cincinnati, drafted by the Falcons, bounced around, selling insurance — and now somehow, Coach DK decided to hand him the keys in Pittsburgh. Cute story. Real inspirational. But let’s be honest… you really expect me to believe in Desmond Ridder?

The College Star That Fell Off

Yeah, Ridder was that dude at Cincy. Over 10,000 yards passing, 2,000 rushing, and back-to-back AAC Offensive Player of the Year awards. Took Cincinnati to the College Football Playoff. Respect.

But the NFL hit different. Drafted by the Falcons, struggled to hold a starting job, bounced to the Cardinals, floated with the Raiders. By 2024, he was basically a trivia answer. “Remember when Desmond Ridder started games?”

Now DK Thinks He’s Him

So what does DK do? Benches Aaron Rodgers — Aaron Rodgers — and rides with Ridder. And yeah, I see the stats. 2,000 yards, 19 TDs, 76% completion. That’s cute. It looks nice on paper.

But you’re gonna have to show me. Because this league is different when the pressure’s real. Anybody can put up numbers in October. Let’s see Ridder do it in December, when defenses are locking in and playoff seeding is on the line.

I Don’t Believe the Hype (Yet)

DK’s out here acting like he’s reinvented the wheel. Like turning to Ridder was some genius move nobody else saw coming. Nah. What I see is a coach gambling with a journeyman QB who’s got more jerseys in his closet than playoff wins.

If DK really thinks Ridder is that guy, then prove it. Win the division. Beat the big dogs. Survive the playoffs. Until then? I’m not buying it.
