The NFL season has officially concluded its first four weeks, so let’s unpack the records of real teams and their PML counterparts.
NFC North
NFL:
Detroit Lions 3-1
Green Bay Packers 2-1-1
Chicago Bears & Minnesota Vikings 2-2
PML:
Chicago Bears 4-0
Green Bay Packers 2-2
Minnesota Vikings & Detroit Lions 1-3
Analysis:
The Lions are unfortunately inverse to their real-life counterpart, and the Bears made easy work of their divisional matchups, where they fell short in the real world, but Minnesota and Green Bay were pretty consistent. No real outlier to point to under or over performing as even though Nef’s offense is bad, he can win.
AFC North
NFL:
Pittsburgh Steelers 3-1
Cincinnati Bengals 2-2
Baltimore Ravens & Cleveland Browns 1-3
PML:
Cleveland Browns & Pittsburgh Steelers & Baltimore Ravens 2-2
Cincinnati Bengals 0-4
Analysis:
If real Bengals fans were upset about hurt Joe Burrow, they’d be more upset with a healthy Burrow and a coach who quit on them. Everyone else is right around their real-world teams, but the Browns are definitely much better in here than… out there.
NFC East
NFL:
Philadelphia Eagles 4-0
Washington Commanders 2-2
Dallas Cowboys 1-2-1
New York Giants 1-3
PML:
Philadelphia Eagles 4-0
Washington Commanders 3-1
Dallas Cowboys & New York Giants 2-2
Analysis:
Pretty cool to have a user go 4-0 with a team capable of it, since we see so many wasted top squads in PML year after year. No one here is doing too differently, but Jaxson Dart is definitely developing faster.
AFC East
NFL:
Buffalo Bills 4-0
New England Patriots 2-2
Miami Dolphins 1-3
New York Jets 0-4
PML:
New York Jets & New England Patriots 3-1
Buffalo Bills 2-2
Miami Dolphins 1-3
Analysis:
Arod was really looking like a new user at this point, especially compared to how bad the real Jets have done, unfortunate that it was a mirage. This division is weird in it’s split from reality isn’t that crazy, but also in the weeks since the first four in PML we’ve seen the Patriots lose six straight.
NFC West
NFL:
San Francisco 49ers & Seattle Seahawks & Los Angeles Rams 3-1
Arizona Cardinals 2-2
PML:
Seattle Seahawks 4-0
Arizona Cardinals 3-1
San Francisco 49ers & Los Angeles Rams 1-3
Analysis:
Pretty similar to the AFC East in that it’s jumbled, but nothing crazy at all outside the 49ers and Rams, but those top two kind of fell of where it feels competitive across the board.
AFC West
NFL:
Los Angeles Chargers 3-1
Kansas City Chiefs & Denver Broncos 2-2
Las Vegas Raiders 1-3
PML:
Denver Broncos 4-0
Los Angeles Chargers 2-2
Las Vegas Raiders 1-3
Kansas City Chiefs 0-4
Analysis:
Beast doesn’t have to make excuses for Vegas, but this new Mike does for Kansas City. Despicable performance, even with a rough start in real life, they sit at 2-2.
NFC South
NFL:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-1
Atlanta Falcons 2-2
Carolina Panthers 1-3
New Orleans Saints 0-4
PML:
Atlanta Falcons 2-2
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-3
Carolina Panthers & New Orleans Saints 0-4
Analysis:
Dang JT, even the real Panthers had won by now. Carolina sits at 1-8 right now in PML, but I guess that could very well happen in real life. The Saints’ sucking is consistent, which should relieve some of JT’s anger.
AFC South
NFL:
Indianapolis Colts & Jacksonville Jaguars 3-1
Houston Texans 1-3
Tennessee Titans 0-4
PML:
Jacksonville Jaguars 4-0
Houston Texans 3-1
Indianapolis Colts 2-2
Tennessee Titans 1-3
Analysis:
We expected the PML Jaguars to be this good, but shout out Liam Coen for having his squad at 3-1. PML Titans are actually insanely sim by starting off as the CPU and having to “fire” it early because wow does Callahan have to leave and Tennessee has to find the real version of Doc. Stroud sucks in real life now, too, so I guess it’s okay he’s getting suspended so much in PML.
