The last two games of the season ended with an offensive explosion where all of the numbers increased, however it didn’t make a difference in the win/loss column. The offense continued to get better throughout the year, but teams were able to key on the pass because the rush game was lacking. Next season, the Giants need to become more balanced so teams can’t pass commit every play. Dart took a lot of sacks due to this. If the Giants can even get over 100 rushing yards on average this will go a long way to scoring points.

The defense just gave up these last two games. Overall, it may look like the team played pretty good defense, however, the last two weeks were the worst games for them defensively. They forced 1 turnover and zero sacks. You can’t win games when you give up points on every drive, especially when you have a rookie at quarterback.
Week 17: 45 Raiders – 42 Giants
This was the worst game ever for rookie Jaxson Dart. He came out hot, throwing 4 interceptions within the first half. This resulted in a 28 point deficit in the first half. It was like he would take the Giants to the redzone, only to see ghosts and throw passes that sailed past the receiver. His first interception was on a play where he had Nabers in the endzone, saw him but threw it so high only the defensive back jumping for it could catch it. He threw it so high Nabers didn’t even react to the ball and stood still. His next interception was on a drag route that went past the outstretched arms of his tight end. Another one was on a post to Nabers where Nabers was open but he underthrew it which allowed the defender to undercut. After getting down, Dart would get the game back to a 35-35 tie but the defense couldn’t make a final stop and eventually lost the game.
Week 18: Cowboys 44 – Giants 36
This was the game that the Giants were supposed to go out on a high note by beating a playoff and divisional team. That in fact didn’t happen and it’s all Wilson’s and the defenses fault. Dart had a fantastic start to the game throwing 9/13 passes for 2 touchdowns but was injured and even though it said he could return, he never returned in the game. Wilson would come in to relieve him and the entire fan base sighed. Wilson immediately came in and threw 2 interceptions. He would settle down after this and have a respectable 3 touchdown game, but he couldn’t overcome the unnecessary interceptions he threw. The defense didn’t step up as they were bullied by Joe Milton and his 99 throw power. Even when they thought they could make a play, Milton fit the ball in there and played very well.
In all, the Giants lost these two games, ending the season on a 12 game losing streak. Yes, most of the losses were one score losses, however, that doesn’t matter because morale victories are pointless in the PML!
