Kicking Gamechangers!

How important are kickers in the NFL? Can kicking make or break a team, can an unreliable kicker infuriate coaches and fans? Just ask the Giants for that answer. EA recently added an interesting update into the game that allows kickers with 99 kickpower to successfully hit a 70 yard field goal, that’s a huge advantage and it made me wonder how successful are the coaches in PML in kicking field goals? What was the longest made field goal this season? In an era where coaches are more determined to go for it on 4th down than take their three points, you will notice that some starting kickers in the league didn’t attempt 10 total kicks the entire season.

*Longest field goal made – Brandon Aubrey (65 yards).

*Most field goals made – Joshua Karty (28)

*Least field goals made – Ka’imi Fairburn and Cairo Santos (8)

*Least field goals attempted – Ka’imi Fairburn (8)

*Best field goal percentage – Ka’imi Fairburn, Jake Elliot, Jason Myers, and Eddy Pineiro (100%)

*Worst field goal percentage – Andres Borregales (66%)

*Worst XP percentage – Ryan Fitzgerald (90%)

*Most field goals made from 50+ yards – Matt Prater (6)

*Kickers with 99 Kickpower – Cam Little and Brandon Aubrey

In summary, kickers are the backbone to a successful team. Jacksonville and Dallas have kickers that could make it through the uprights from their own 47 yard line, that is absolutely game changing. I don’t know if we will see kickers with that high of kickpower in the draft, but this might be the first cycle where we see coaches reaching higher in the draft for a big leg.
