After eight unforgettable seasons in purple and black, the Baltimore Ravens and tight end Mark Andrews are officially parting ways. The team announced late Saturday that they will not be re-signing the Four-Time Pro Bowler. Marking the end of an era defined by grit, passion, and production.
Andrews, 30, leaves Baltimore as one of the franchise’s most decorated offensive players. Drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, he quickly became a cornerstone of the Ravens’ evolving passing attack and a trusted target for quarterback Lamar Jackson. His chemistry with Jackson—often forged in broken plays and red-zone scrambles—helped define the Ravens’ offensive identity through some of the team’s most memorable runs.
Over his career in Baltimore, Andrews amassed over 7,000 receiving yards, 71 touchdowns, and Four Pro Bowl selections (2019, 2021, 2023, 2025), while earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2021. That season, he shattered team records for a tight end with 107 receptions for 1,361 yards, solidifying himself among the NFL’s elite at the position.
More than numbers, though, Andrews brought heart. Known for playing through pain and battling Type 1 diabetes since childhood, he became a symbol of resilience for fans and teammates alike. Whether it was fighting for extra yards in the cold December rain at M&T Bank Stadium or spiking the ball with raw emotion after a crucial touchdown, Andrews embodied what it meant to be a Raven.
General Manager Eric DeCosta called the decision “one of the hardest” of his tenure.
“Mark represents everything we value—leadership, toughness, and accountability,” DeCosta said. “We’ll miss him deeply, but we’re grateful for everything he gave to this organization and this city.”
As Andrews heads into free agency, speculation will swirl about where he lands next. But in Baltimore, there’s no debate—his legacy is secure. From his clutch third-down grabs to his unmistakable roar after finding the end zone, he helped define a generation of Ravens football.
No matter where he goes next, Mark Andrews will always have a home in Baltimore. His number 89 jersey will continue to be seen in the stands, his highlight reels will echo through Ravens history, and his impact—both on the field and off—will never be forgotten.
The city that embraced him from day one now sends him off with nothing but gratitude and love.
Once a Raven, always a Raven.
